Johnson flies home in a private jet

I don't have a problem doing it for work; him taking a single flight is not hypocrisy; it's about taking fewer flights, not zero.

However, his unserious nature and the fact it was a social event doesn't look good.

I'm pretty sure the mention of domestic flights above meant GB rather than including Northern Ireland; although that will be less of an issue when the Brexiteers complete their mission of a united Ireland.

I saw an article where Joanna Lumley (?!) was proposing carbon rationing. Then if rich folks want to fly all over the world they can buy rationing from poor people who can't afford a holiday. I think this is a fantastic idea.

I’d be one having to buy extra rations. And I think it’s a brilliant idea.

I despise Johnson but think that, in this case, security trumps optics. It might not look good but the alternatives of road or rail travel probably involve a much larger security operation with additional environmental costs and inconvenience to the public.

Optics? Does he have a bottle of Bells on the go in his jet?

The rush to get back was to attend the telegraph dinner.
