Johnson's BYOB Party Invitation 🤣

Whilst the rest of the country did the right thing this despicable excuse of a human decided he’d have a drinks party, while loved ones were deprived the chance of last goodbyes he was toasting their demise with bring your own wine, whilst thousands suffered on their own, mental health shot to pieces he raised a glass and laughed in their faces, whist others went above and beyond working night and day including those he claimed saved his own sorry life, he thanked them by taking the pïss and getting pïssed, whilst people were being arrested for saying their final farewells at gravesides, he enjoyed canapés with chums in his illegally funded flat, these are the actions of the lowest of the low, there are no longer any excuses nor mitigation, this is a person whose policies deprived thousands of life changing interactions to millions of people, whilst he himself partied, Nero will forever be remembered as the Emperor who played his fiddle whilst his city burned, Johnson will forever be remembered as the Prime Minister who partied whilst his people perished.

Anyone with any shred of decency, regardless of their politic affiliation, must demand he be removed from office and never be allowed anywhere near a position of responsibility again, the good old Boris act was never funny or to my taste but I can say with certainty it’s gone on far too long.

We are becoming evermore morally bankrupt as a society and our elected officials are showing their only effective leadership skills in pushing us down that road.
He and his cronies should have gone months ago, this latest kick in the public's teeth will be excused just like all his others.
We are getting what we deserve, or should I say that the self centred, I'm alright Jack, Little England flag waving mob are getting what they deserve. Those of us who still try and maintain decency and have more than our own interests at heart definitely don't deserve this *****.

thing I’m really struggling with is 100 people got that invitation but we haven’t heard about until now.

I don’t believe this hasn’t been leaked, surely at least a dozen people must have been ***ed off. Surely the press have sat on this.

Cummings spoke of it last week in his blog. He's been critical of the press but didn't say that they have known, he pointed them to a certain email.

It's not the press' fault - it's Johnson's. The press would have loved this story at any time over the last 18 months.

What you really should be struggling with is that 100 staff, the 40 that attended, the police, the families of the staff & security staff all knew and nothing was leaked - even when the other stuff was leaked last year. You have to wonder what else goes on that we aren't privy too.

I just don’t find it plausible that 100 people, some outspoken about it, that it wasn’t leaked until 18 months later

I think it's fairly obvious Johnson hasn't been paying a blind bit of notice to his own rules throughout. People would surely now have to be incredibly naive to believe otherwise.

The fact his private secretary apparently thought nothing of sending that invitation tells you everything about the culture in Johnson's private office I think. A culture no doubt coming primarily from the scruffy, entitled over-promoted man child himself.

No wonder he was willing to die in a ditch to defend Cummings breaking the rules. DC was clearly just following the example being set by his boss.

It’s just one thing after another, and they aren’t being held to account And Johnson knows it. There isn’t going to be a general election for another 2-3 years so the only way he will go is if there is a vote of no confidence from within the Tories and a leadership challenge. But then it will just be more of the same. Pretty sure Cummings will have some part in these exposes and ultimately in bringing Johnson down.

Who is outspoken about it though? No one. The email leak was prompted by Cummings and has only surfaced. Once the email is out a few 'unnamed sources' have come out. There is an omertĂ  at No 10.

It doesn't surprise me one bit that all of this has remained secret. If it gets out it's peoples jobs. Remember what kind of person you must be to work for Johnson - probably little moral compass.

Sadly I have to say that seeing the obvious whoppers Johnson was coming out with in 2016 and the whoppers he has been coming out with since he was PM and the negligence he's shown during the pandemic none of this surprises me at all. It's par for the course with him.

We have the PM we deserve.

His successor might not be quite as prone to the unbelievable number of own goals Johnson manages, but yep a change of leader will make little difference, particularly given the likely candidates.

Mind I could actually see Liz Truss somehow being worse in some respects. Mind boggling she's even being talked about, let alone one of the favourites.

I agree there - she comes across as very tone deaf and weak. She's always struggled on TV interviews and is another who isn't great with the detail. I'd think if anything she wouldn't be so blatantly corrupt as Johnson but if the Tories want to move forward and stand a chance at winning the next GE they surely aren't stupid enough to bring in a current cabinet minister?

I'm worried that Hunt will get in. He's been out in the wilderness for long enough to forget how useless he was as Health Sec.

This goes deeper. The Met must have known. They post officers outside Downing St at all times so they would have allowed in the 40 guests, checked them etc etc.
I see the police are now looking at this but don't be surprised if nothing comes of it given their own almost certain complicity.

This surely is the point they have to investigate or all trust in the police will be gone.
