Joshua Usyk

I am one of the Joshua critics normally but i dont think he is poor/limited, he just has vulnerabilities that have been exposed or close to being exposed.

I suppose it always makes his fights exciting because he can as we know be great and take anyone out but can also be caught and be hurt.

Bruno’s losses were all against fighters better than Ruiz, maybe a couple on par at least. Even that’s being kind to Ruiz who hasn’t beaten anyone else notable.
on par, other than Lewis, not better. You aren't going to convince me that Witherspoon or Smith were anything better than Ruiz. Thing is EVERY time Bruno went into a ring with a top 10 boxer, bar the McCall fight, he got beat up. Even then he was hanging on would have been KOd if there was another round. Whereas AJ has beaten them all at that level except that one Ruiz fight, then he beat him easily later. That's the real difference between Bruno and AJ and why it's silly to say Bruno could beat him. Bruno won 1 of the 8 or so decent fighters he faced......and only just won that 1. AJ has won 10 out of 11 at that level and above. There records are ABSOLUTELY different levels

The other thing to compare is the different stages of their careers. AJ KOd a legend in Klitschko in fight 19. Bruno was still fighting nobodies around that time. It was 30 fights before he moved up to B listers like Witherspoon, and kept getting beat.

I said he would beat him because Bruno had a good jab and AJ doesn't move his head and gets caught with the overhand punch, I never said had a better record or is the better fighter, Bruno could bang and I think he'd catch him so not one of the most stupidest posts at all really,

Klitchsko has the best jab in the business or did, but he didn’t beat aj. These throwaway comments don’t stand up to scrutiny

Thy are not throwaway they are observations, Buster Douglas beat Tyson, he had his best day, Tyson took him for granted and paid the price.Whos the better fighter?.

Ruiz is totally garbage, I don’t know why people believe this thing that he is some killer after the Joshua fight.

His career before that was going nowhere, dropped by Top Rank, ended up on PBC undercards going from trainer to trainer. His best win was a shot to bits Dimitrenko who was pretty crap on his best days. Ruiz was most known for having a close loss to Joseph Parker, who himself has proven to be not that good. Then he just went life and death with a 40 year old Chris Arreola and got dropped in the process.

So yeah, I absolutely rate Ruiz below most of them listed.

You need to stop listening Eddie Hearn and Adam Smith 🤣 You sound like a 15-year-old Fanboy

You have to compare eras, this is not a good era, you can’t just say that someone has beaten all top 10 boxers in 1 era and some other guy lost against top 10 boxers in a much more difficult era.

It’s unfortunate but none of this lot can touch top 10 of all time because their era isn’t good enough, the wins aren’t there to elevate them to that level. But I guess if it was a better era they probably wouldn’t be the best boxers of it anyway.

I don't listen to Hearn or Smith, thanks for the wasted advice. It's the Wilder and Fury fanboys that concern me.

people always say this kind of thing, but it's rarely true

What is interesting is how much more often the likes of Tyson (who splattered 30 guys in just the first 2 years of his career) fought compared to boxers these days.

Which era do you think this decade is comparable to then? If you went by decades to make it easy. You think it's on par with the 60's, 70's or 90's?
I would say the nineties was pretty strong, Bowe,Tyson, Lewis, Ruddock, Holyfield,Moorer, all good fighters even Big George couldn't be stopped, literally.🥊

To be fair though, they were almost exclusively part time boxers, certainly the first 25, they had 127 defeats on their record between them. You can basically ignore his first 20 fights.

eras and decades are different.

I think this era has better boxers than say when Tyson showed up. For a limited teenager to blow away most of the opposition. To unify the title without fighting a single boxer who had a title defence on their record, tells you a lot about the quality at the time.

Usyk is definitely a very tactical and technical fighter so I’m anticipating another cagey sort of fight. Let’s face it AJ has to really impress tonight with a knockout victory to dispel the fact he’s gone backwards in terms of ability and fear of the ring factor — he has a lot to prove.

IT doesn't matter what he does, 30% of people have drawn their line and think he is useless. They're bedded in their trenches and no matter what he does they'll have that same view.

It is his toughest fight for a while, probably since Klitschko, but I expect him to come through it

Yup the 80s was poor although I disagree entirely that Tyson was limited, he didn’t have a great resume due to the era he fought in but he was very skilled. Would have liked to have seen him in his prime in the 90s.

At least we now have a decade we are comparing this era to which is one of the worst in heavyweight history.
