Just stop oil at the rugby today

No. I’m trying to get the topic back on track and fight of the class warriors whose prejudice leads them to believe that “the majority of rugby fans are Tories”
They KNOW this is an insult and they know there are rugby fans on here. I don’t get why you would derail a thread like that. But then again I know some people on here love the class warrior stuff. I just rail against it because I don’t like the prejudice it entails.

Also I would say my extrapolation that the majority of fans of a team in Manchester are story voters is significantly more accurate than saying the majority of domestic rugby fans are Tories

Digging in for an argument it is then.

Your extrapolation is wrong - pure and simple.
Then you use 'more accurate' without any validity.

Whatever it is you're doing, you are having a nightmare attempting to be be condescending to me about Sale playing in Salford, when I simply commented on my experiences when they were based at Edgeley Park.

To the defenders of the protesters.
Different scenario but if Boro were playing in the FA cup final at Wembley (and won) and the Protesters prevented you and your family/friends from attending, would you still have the same attitude?

I'm not have a nightmare. Becasue sale play in Salford. And everything I said shotting down your and Corcs class warrior BS is predicated on this fact. We were talking about a match that happened on Saturday. And the team that played were from Salford. It's that simple. I'm not sure how telling you an easily verifiable fact is me having a "nightmare" but I guess that's how you like to talk

Well said. As I have found out there are a few on here who are appear to be happy with the interuption becasue it happened at a rugby match. Imagine we'd got to the play final and they'd gone there instead on Saturday? This thread would be VERY different. Which just goes to show some don't actually care about the event

I gave my validity when I mentioned the demographics and location of the team. Which is certainly more valid then corcs: "rugby is a sport, posh people are Tories, ergo it was predominantly Tories" which was based only on prejudice

Last from me as, as is so often the case when with you, things go round in circles.

I relayed my experience of Sale supporters when the club was based in Edgeley. You thought you were being clever telling me the club is based in Salford, which I already knew. You've doubled and indeed tripled down on somehow thinking you have corrected me. You haven't. Thank you.

Well done you. You just think you’re intelligent to have pointed out an old location. I mean, it’s completely out of context and of course utterly ignores the conversation that was happening to prove whatever “point” you were trying to prove but yeah, well done. You know where a team used to play. That little diversion and your attempt to cause an argument added zero to the thread. But I guess you think I had a “nightmare” so you’ll be happy. It’s a shame you couldn’t have a conversation about the subject

Ok, I'm back 1 final time on this thread.

I always try and remain polite whilst attempting to make my point, but as you continue to condescend and attempt to ridicule I will put it more bluntly.

My comment on my experience of Sale supporters was wholly relevant to the argument you were having with CtC over what 'type' of people frequented Sale Sharks matches. I referred to Edgeley Park as that is where I encountered them. I'm guessing the club retained its existing support after ground relocation.

My experience was they were a self entitled bunch of cnts, who felt they were better than the locals, with whom they had to slum it with every couple of weeks if they wanted a pint near the ground. I'm damned sure that is not every Sale fan...but that was my experience.

Nothing I said needed correcting, and it was relevant to prior posts on the thread.

Now that is defintely it from me on this seemingly fruitless exercise of explanation.

Sorry ST. I've never fallen out with you on here but I have to say this is a strange old hill to die on. You're coming across like someone just desperate for a row over very little.
Not really no. I always rail against the class wars. It’s something I hate. Prejudicing someone on the class they are or if they like a certain sport. I also feel it sad when there is a genuine debate about a very serious subject happening people want to derail it by making it about “people who go to rugby”.

I imagine a lot of what you think about Sale fans comes from your own prejudice. As I have pointed out I was amongst them at the weekend and they were decent people. CERTAINLY not self entitled in any which way. I get the impression, I hope I’m wrong but the more it goes on the more I suspect I’m right, that you have such strong and nasty opinions of them because of the sport they follow rather than who they are.

I'm not disagreeing with you here over the ins and outs of the row that this thread has become, not am I second guessing your feelings. I'm just giving you impartial feedback over how you are coming across in the manner and incessantly argumentative - not to say insulting - tone of your replies.

To be fair I was reacting to an intial insult. Corcy stated that the majority of the crowd were Tories. Given this is a sport I love, and given how bad an insult that is, I took offence. The responses from him and pain were pure “class warrior” chip on shoulder prejudice. That’s why I kept up questioning them. Still it’s obvious they won’t repent on their prejudices and will tar a huge group of people with the same brush. It’s sad they have to be that reactionary but given the ongoing conversation with pain it look like their bias and prejudice is ingrained. Which is really sad for them but hey ho.

Hopefully they can stop the insults and the thread will get back to the original discussion

I have read this thread throughout. You have just used the word 'reactionary' to describe others' comments. People are reacting to each other but your own contributions are the most reactionary.

Anyway I have said my piece and that's me out.

I can't keep away.

I didn't insult you. I simply commented on my limited experience of Sale Sharks fans. You've insulted and attempted to ridicule me in nigh on all your responses, where as I have simply tried to clarify why I considered my post relevant.

Fair enough. Sad we see that differently but, as I said I was offended by corcys stereotypes hence why I kept up the argument

That’s the third time you’ve left 😂
Maybe I should be clear, I felt you were backing up corcys stereotyping of a rugby crowds. And as that stereotyping including a pretty strong insult about Tories I naturally got offended by it.

If you were literally just commenting on some blokes you met in a pub then fine. I can’t speak to that experience. Just that I met a lot of decent Sale fans on Saturday

Seems like you must be right about the rugby.
If it happened at a proper rugby (league) match the outcome might have been different.
