Putting a lame horse down…

the guy needs to get his head sorted as his game has clearly been affected by the summer transfer saga….

im sure he will get his form back though..

He shouldn’t have been on the pitch, England captain or not. He has zero form and there are other players more deserving of a start. Poor management from Southgate imo.

Disagree.

He's a fantastic striker in a bad vein of form, he'll come good again.

Abraham hasn't done much more in his 10 minutes off the bench, though I fully understand bringing him on given Kane's performance.

Abraham is in a lot better form at domestic level though which is surely the marker that should count?

England manager's downfalls have always been picking players on reputation instead of current form..

Is it at a lot better?

2 goals in 7 league matches vs 0 in 6.

Abraham has 4 goals and 2 assists in 10 total matches vs Kane's 6 goals in 10.

Obviously 2 in the league is better than 0, but you can't ignore Kane's pedigree on the basis of a handful of games.
He was top scorer and top assister in the Premier League last season.

I'm happy he finally had the minerals to take him off. Various times over the last 2 years or so he needed hooking as dead on his feet.

The WC semi against Croatia was crying out for Vardy as Kane was trudling around. Also absolutely shattered in the Euros final.

That said he looks ruined. The issue you have with Kane is that he's hardly dynamic. So if he's ever remotely off the pace he trundles around and looks poor.

I'd say at least half of the games at the Euros, if not more he was desperately poor too.

I don't think it's a coincidence that he struggled at the Euros which started almost immediately after he'd put in a transfer request at Tottenham.

The problem is that other other options have nowhere near the same quality even when Kane is off the pace. He still played a brilliant ball through to Sterling who should've done better.
