Labour 10 points ahead of Tories...

Labour 41-27 ahead on latest poll
The big caveat for me is how many 'don't knows' are 'shy tories' - who will be aghast at the prospect of a Labour government, and vote as they were always really going to

Will be interesting regardless. The Scots are generally moving away from the SNP as well they might not admit it publicly but I spend a lot of time up there and they all hate Sturgeon and the direction the SNP is going. I can see a big shift back to red at election time.

None of that is correct.

For reference I have 47 Scottish colleagues and deal with several suppliers that are Scottish based and with one or two exceptions the rest of them can’t stand her and what she stands for at all, they are big sick of her stirring more division. So do tell me how is all of that wrong? Are they wrong? Do they not fit with rest of the country or is it that the rest just don’t admit it publicly? We are not talking just boots on the ground either that opinion is across engineers, management and directors.

I live in Edinburgh, most of my family that remains are in Glasgow. I have friends all over, including Orkney and Shetland. Both sexes, from 20 to 90 years old.

The consensus from most of them is that Nicola has handled Covid quite well and better by miles than Boris. The SNP isn't as popular as 5 years ago but is still regarded as the best option. If there's any shift away from the SNP in the 2024 election it is more likely to be towards the Libdems than Labour. Nobody knows what Labour's policies are and Scots in general have been let down for 50 years by Labour. If Boris is gone by the next election then Douglas Ross is pretty well liked. Scotland was a Tory stronghold until the 1950s so it's not a Labour shoo in.

So it's just plain wrong to say we all hate Nicola and even more wrong to think Labour will pick up disaffected SNP voters.

Stll sat shaking my head. I hope you're right.
The fact they are still around 30% beggars belief to be honest.

Shame on anyone still intending to vote Tory. They're basically saying they'll vote for any corrupt regime no matter what they do. They're either incredibly gullible or have no moral standards. They might as well live in a banana republic or a dictatorship.

As with all polls it rather depends on how the question is phrased.

Most tory voters, I would assume, think Johnson will be gone and a more able and less corrupt leader will be in place by the next election.

If their ideology is tory, why wouldn't they intend to vote tory.

Maybe those with a conscience and capable of critical thinking will realise that although Johnson is head idiot in chief, the rest of the party have propped him up, covered for him and defended him despite almost certainly knowing he's been lying through his teeth non stop since he took the job.

That's why they wouldn't (or shouldn't) intend to vote Tory even if they remove the clown.

Festa you are just projecting your own ideals there mate. Plenty of people don't care about society.

They care about how much tax they pay to support people who won't or can't work. They care about single mothers scrounging from the state.

They have a sense of entitlement themselves, believing they got where they are with hard graft. They probably, largely believe that they are in some way, exceptional.

That they don't understand good fortune and opportunity have little to do with hard work isn't going to change because Johnson is corrupt, I am afraid.

All that said the tories lose the next election, of that I am certain.

Totally agree, but fully expect that they will - as they always do
