Lateral Flow Tests

Not easy either. Daughter tested positive on LFT the other day, no PCR available locally to drive through so she's getting one sent by post.
Yeah, I bet! That's one of the reasons why I didn't even try to get one myself after I got symptoms and a positive LFT, I've just bunkered down and reported my LFT positive, which I'm satisfied with.

Hopefully me not taking a local test slot means one can go to someone who is more in doubt, or it means someone else can get one sooner.

Showing as none available to book, in Boro or Stockton, and none available by post either.

Failure in time if crisis. The government need to go, they're useless.

Tested positive today using a lft. My nhs covid app is saying that I should isolate until 12/1 which is eleven days. Is this right as I thought you only had to isolate for a week?

I think the testing availability is one of the very few things they've done right, overall. Extremely hard to keep up with local demand in times of massive surges, they could have controlled the surges to not be possible to outstrip test demand mind.

Seeing as Boro/ Stockton are the only two towns listed in the whole of the UK with none available, my bet is we're pretty much some of the worst places in the UK at the minute.

7 days if you get two negative LFT's on day 6 and 7. But you're still meant to work from home, and not go to any high risk areas until the full 10 days at least.

I think you can also reduce it (or go free) if you get a negative PCR within 48 hours of a positive LFT, but that almost certainly won't clear you if your LFT line is even slightly visible. I can't find where this was written though, I may have seen that when I reported my positive LFT.

There are none in London, we been looking since last Tuesday,

The government definitely don’t have any grip of this generally. No tests being available without further restrictions is pathetic.

It's 10 days after start of symptoms (but stupidly only if it's one of the 3 symptoms listed on the app) or 10 days after date of positive test. If you test negative with LFT on day 6 and day 7 then you can "test out" after 7 days by submitting your LFT results to the NHS.

Looks like they might be lifting the need to have a PCR test within 2 days of arriving in England to try and free up some tests.

Tested positive last Thursday, only saw a small group of family at Christmas that also all tested negative before we went round and still are! Had absolutely no symptoms at all, been keeping ourselves to ourselves.

Mrs has it too and its the due date of our first child today. Managed to avoid it up until now, timing is impeccable.

Squeaky bum time. Nightmare scenario.

That must be so stressful. I hope she continues to test negative and that the baby hangs on until you're clear to attend the birth too......good luck!!

Hopefully you both get well soon with no symptoms. Best wishes for the future for all 3 of you.

Hopefully this means your new born can be pretty much bulletproof for viruses in the future.

Seriously though, best of luck to your family and fingers crossed everybody is well soon.
