WhoScored teams of the week are usually statistical rubbish, and doesn't seem to involve anyone actually watching them, but he's getting decent reviews from the fans down there too.

Would love them to stay up so I hope he can score a goal or two for them.
They have two massive games against Coventry and Birmingham coming up.

MOM for them yesterday apparently. 4 shots 3 on target. Been unlucky not to open his scoring account with them hitting woodwork several times. After watching Saville and Howson last few games he could walk into this team. As a team we haven't managed 3 shots on target in the last 2 games.

It's very true, he goes wandering regularly. Howson lets people run off him too, but not as often. Morsy is pretty good at blocking the space and passing lines, but he's a very pennyland Boateng

My grannie with a Zimmer frame could get past both Wing and Howson.

Think he will leave permanently next season?

He’s been criticised a lot by fans including me and apparently he’s doing fairly well at Rotherham, well decent enough for their fans to want him to sign for them. Surprised he hasn’t scored one of his long rangers yet mind.

I think he will be off and good luck to him he is. He’s probably not of the standard we require but he has scored some pearlers for us so fairplay to him.

Hes better than Saville. Would be disappointed to see Wing go especially if Saville’s still here

I've said all along that he has goals in him and goal-scoring midfielders are hard to come by. He's got some gaps defensively, but that can be coached. It's not like we're overrun with goal scoring midfielders is it?

Rotherham won't be paying big money to sign him and he's on a modest contract, so it would be daft to move him on, in those terms at least.

Yes he can score the occasional screamer but he is so one paced (slow) that opposing midfielders find it easy to either run past him or off him.

If we do bring him back into the frame it will be the right decision for the player and the club. He might not have been suited to this season, but a bit of a change of scenery a new perspective and he might well fit in for next..

It might well be that we see very little change to our current squad. Assombalonga changed out for Diedhiou, Dembele brought in to replace Fletcher (who hardly played for us this season) and the rest we see improvements from injury and experience from the younger players.

It doesn't seem like much, but it's an improvement from how we started this season. Evolution rather than Revolution?

I’m not too sure if you can really compare Wing to any of our midfielders at this stage of the season— biggest reason of all is that Rotherham still have work to do in order to stay up— so all of their playing squad are literally playing for their championship pay packets whereas our midfielders are just playing out time. Wing has some decent attributes but lacks consistency and maybe overall quality for this league. It’s too bad because he’s got a great shot but it takes other attributes to make it at championship level.

I don't mind Wing and he's got a great strike on him. I just sometimes question whether he has the athleticism to play at this level. He always looks like he's blowing out of his **** even at the beginning of games. I think he would probably be a cracking League One player.

Wing had 3 shots on target on sat.... We've had 4 shots on target in 3 games (according to the gazette).

I maybe old fashioned but you've actually got to shoot to score a goal? The current midfield doesn't have a shot in it. That's the one thing Wing brings to the table.

Let's not forget how important his 7 goals were last season. We don't have a CM who can get anywhere near that (I imagine add them all together this season and it probably wouldn't match it?). Also if they did 2 of them are from Wing

Found it very surprising at the end of last season and throughout this one how blasé folk on here are about Wing considering his goalscoring ability. Already been a few posts saying our current midfielders couldn't match him for goals over a season. I'd go further than that. When did we last have a CM that you really thought had a few goals in them? Zenden?

"He's not fast enough, he doesn't defend enough" Okay but our other centre mids don't score enough. That's the point in it being a team game isn't it? Different players contributing with different attributes? How often is the complaint after matches that we've had 3 midfielders all doing largely the same job in the same way?

It was the same when we had Traore. "Doesn't help his fullback enough!" I struggle to understand what some people want to watch?

Having said all that I like Tav best when he's in one of the centre mid places and he seemed to be getting more of a goalscoring habit before his injury. Hopefully he picks up where he left off next season.
