Line of Duty (Possible spoilers inside, BEWARE!)

A quick shout out to a Spotify podcast called Shrine of Duty. If you love the series a new podcast 'drops' on a Wednesday and they discuss the latest episode and do it brilliantly.

They explain so much that you may miss and link things to previous series. I fully recommend it if you are a line of duty nerd like me😂. Also come up with some great theories.
Thanks for this

The podcast is great.

Some of the theories......holy ****

The one about Kate being "H".......mother of god

Nice touch having a golf bag in DCI Buckell's office I thought. I hope they checked it for a burner phone.

The voice Steve caught a snippet of was Patrick Baladi I think who played a Jimmy series 4? I haven't watched them all back since they aired, who was Jimmy?

Jimmy Lakewell was Roz Huntley husband Solicitor

Jimmy Lakewell chucked Steve down the stairs in S4 that has given him a bad back and what looks like a painkiller addiction

Oh for crying out loud I missed half of this, I am going to have to go back and watch the episode again. Just sometimes I wish it bumble along like Vera or Midsomer for a couple of episodes!!!

It's going to be one of those series where you have to rewatch it all again to pick up bits you've missed.

I've been finding loads of bits and pieces I originally missed watching Lost again for example that gives more weight to the overall story.

Oh, well, even more mysteries left unresolved or glossed over for you at the end.

She interviewed Ryan Pilkington for ages in Series 1. Surely she must remember the name? How many Ryan Pilkingtons are there!

It's matching up a child toe rag with an adult Police Officer that would be difficult. She knew she had encountered him, but I doubt I'd be able to go straight there. Her copper's itch is bugging her enough that she's looking into him.

No probs👍

I was late to the party as mate told me about it after series 5. They talk about so much that I miss when watching. It's one of those programs were you can't sit on a phone whilst it's on.

Something that`s been on my mind and can`t put the pieces together so putting them here

Cottan (1no. Caddy) from season 1 worked directly for Gates unit who was being used by the OCG.

Tommy (OCG) gets put in witness protection.

Akers (Police) is in witness protection unit has secret talks with Cottan that gets Lindsey Denton to help with getting him killed.

Akers dies.

Denton dies before exposing Cottan.

Cottan dies

Akers AC-9 (witness protection unit)
Cottan AC-9 (witness protection unit)

Jamie Beresford joins AC12 ( in my opinion as a replacement mole now Cottan is dead). Doesn`t get on in AC12 and transfers to......AC-9 (witness protection unit)

Hilton (formerly worked for an AC unit before moving to Central Police (my opinion witness protection) now has no mole inside AC12 so he blackmails Maneet (because her cousin was working for OCG at Eastside depot robbery). Once his affiliation with the OCG is discovered he`s killed off.

Only 2 people have survived the OCG at the moment who aren`t in jail

Biggeloe and Terry, who I reckon are both going to turn up dead this season

Sorry for the ramblings of what must look like a mad man :ROFLMAO:

Was the witness protection unit part of ac-9?

I thought it was part of its own separate and confidential unit. Certainly it wasn’t one ac-12 could easily access.

Was ac-9 the one that investigated Hastings or was that ac-3? AC-3 might have been the one Kate went to in order to investigate Dot and Biggeloe. In which case AC-9 also had a corrupt officer who tried to knife Biggeloe in the toilet.

Witness protection is a different unit and one that AC 12 had real problems accessing. I guess for obvious reasons.

Going back a few series we have loads of characters in witness protection and still a few key players banged up. I am sure a few could resurface this season.

The likes of Lisa McQueen from the last series has a new identity. She didn't give Ryan up when she spilled the beans and knows he killed Corbet. I'd be amazed if she doesn't come back at some point.

We need Thandie Newton back as her jail term must be up soon😂

I must be watching too much of Line of Duty. I have just watched “The Damned United” (about Brian Clough) tonight and Steve Arnott is John O’Hare, John Corbett is Billy Bremner and Tommy Hunter is Dave Mackay!

So that puts to bed theories from elsewhere that Buckles is "H"

I don`t think he is linked to the OCG, I just think he`s stupidly took advice from superiors/ranked officer and he`ll see that next episode.

Don`t believe that Jo is rooted in the OCG either, it took a couple of series to expose Dott and this is to quick in my opinion.

I`m starting to get suspicious of Kate now aswell as she seems to have this knack of suggesting stuff but making people think it was their idea.

I`m liking that previous series have now become part of this series, seems like the tying off of loose ends is coming together. Wouldn`t surprise me if we have some sort of Hanibal Lector ending where by everyone knows who he is but he`s still at large, ready to make an appearance if they subsidise a 7th series.

Was anyone else shouting at the screen when Kate saw the police in the water only to then take a "Sunday afternoon drive" to assist. If that would have been me I`d have been like Colin McRae (RIP) trying to get there.

I think she knew exactly what she saw, hence why she noticed the window was open straight away and also why she was quite short with the casual questioning of Pilkington.

Ryan as a juvenile was arrested (not charged) in Series 1 and as you say interviewed at length. I was thinking surely he wouldn’t have been able to join the police with his name on record?

I think Kate explained that to Hastings. Ryan was taken under the wing of a local PO and wasn’t in trouble since then. She also implied that the recruiting officer could have missed the details off his file, or have been under instruction from the OCG.

Yeah, her and Steve thought that might be what had happened. Either it wasn't spotted or it was removed
