Loan deal agreed

he’s abit slow and not great on the deck, though he’s got a decent header on him, but his lack of pace seemed to hinder him when tracking runners at corners etc
All true BUT he does bring strength leadership, organisation, and a corner threat which none of our other CBs have.

Erimus just a thought about the "Until his initial injury he's one of few defenders who are a presence at either end of the pitch" bit. Not sure I see this presence. He was at fault for a number of goals and also missed a number of chances at the other end. Hope he proves me wrong but I haven't seen anything to get excited about from him yet. Only my opinion of course.
Asred, that's fine mate, probably only me then 😔

A usually reliable young fella reckons its Kebano. Would love Vydra / Gayle but not sure how they fit into what Warnock was saying. He said his priority is a wide man which im guessing rules those two out and wouldn't consider either to be a 'gamble'?

Who is the reliable young fella? I would be delighted if it’s Kebano

Vydra would be a decent signing. I've said this for about 5 years everytime he went out on loan. I'm not sure he's 'as good' now.

I maybe still think of him in his early 20s at Watford. He was a right player.

I don't think we create enough for Gayle. Hes a poacher who thrives off service.

It’s Matej Vydra
He would be a decent signing, a proper number 10, scores goals at this level. He's broken 20 goals twice at this level and got 16 on another occasion. Only 3 in his season at Reading and 5 in his first at Derby but he was a sub for half of that season. Total in the champ: 65 goals and 22 assists in 136 starts and 51 sub appearances. Those are phenomenal numbers for a 10 and occasional CF and winger

He plays for Fulham, played a decent part in there promotion last season, if I remember correctly he wasn’t starting every game but still played a lot. Decent wide player 👍

Most likely to be M.Essiah the player we have always been looking for.
Enjoy the transfer window but it's only one of eleven, don't get your hopes up too much, and don't get angry if it doesn't come off.

Sounds like a very naughty boy!

I'd never heard of Kebano so had a little look on Youtube and he looks like a good player, great acceleration and first touch. Looks like he's got a trick or two as well. Obviously all players look decent from their YT videos but he seems like the kind of player we need

Kebano is a very direct, pacy and technical footballer. Can't think there would be many defences which would relish him running at them.

That said, and it is with fairly limited viewings, his decision making could probably be improved in the final third (an exceptional run...then what...)

I'm not sure if it fits with the "injury cover" narrative though - seems he's only played twice since Xmas, substitute against Saints in the league and QPR in the cup (he scored in ET).

Lad on One Boro reckons its someone from Palace.
I have wondered if someone in the champo or bottom of prem might take a punt on Townsend, has gone backwards in the last 2 years, isn't really a key player, isn't a guaranteed starter either and he turns 30 soon, his days are numbered at Palace.

You can substitute Schlupp for Townsend too.

NOTE: Both players are out of contract in the summer, and Palace will look to upgrade on them. Schlupp I've always seen as more of a wingback or midfielder than a winger, which is why I would say Townsend is more likely
