London tube advice

We did Witness last Christmas. Sat in the jury box. Great fun. And a unique place to put on the show.
Yeah it's a great venue for that type of play. Although slightly limited, like when they did the railway children at the old Eurostar terminal in Waterloo. I bet sitting in the jury box was fun, we just did standard gallery seat

I know my least favourite is the Jubilee. Seems smaller and more claustrophobic than the others. I've not been on the Elizabeth Line yet. Next time I go to Heathrow I'll look to use it instead of the Heathrow Express. I imagine its like Pan Am in the 60s. Stewardesses feeding you hors d'oeuvres in between stations.
The IFS cloud cablecar defo the worst. How does the dangleway even get on the underground map?

Best for me is the DLR: It's a magical flying robot skytrain. What's not to like?

I like it but it has its downsides. Great for getting from Stratford to the Wharf but since the Elizabeth Line opened its a gamechamger in so many ways for me.

We'll definitely give that a go, the Spanish Civil War is one of my favourite pieces of history. There are tributes to Teesside's members of the International brigade in the Boro and Stockton too.
I met Maxine Peake at an event there ;) she give an emotional peace about men and women who gave up almost everything, a third their lives, to help the Spanish people in 1936- 39, against the wishes of the British Government.

Say Nothing.

Fair point. But it still bugs me the way it's labelled on the map. It's the Elizabeth Line Line

A couple of questions for you London based fans. Me and the missus are stopping in Hammersmith over the weekend, which is the best tube line to get on from Kings Cross? Then which is the best tube line to get to Leicester Square from hammersmith and also to the old County Hall, also from Hammersmith?
As a former resident of Hammersmith I can safely say I'd never get the Piccadilly line from Kings Cross to Hammersmith it generally takes longer and is much more crowded, dirty and hot than the Hammersmith and City / Circle line.

Buses in London are cheap.

There used to be a bus I sometimes caught from Shepherds Bush to Imperial War Museum without changing that went over Westminster Bridge. You saw alot of London over 52 minutes, Cost £1.50

I might be misremembering slightly but many moons ago we had a daily commute between Ravenscourt Park and Earl's Court and one of the lads we travelled with always changed to the Piccadilly line for the Earl's Court to Hammersmith stretch due to the fact it was full of Air Hostesses heading to or from Heathrow.

Going back to the original question, the correct answer is H&C / Circle as long as they're running as normal.

The line is easier to get to at Kings Cross and arrives at ground level. You come out about 150 yards from the other station.

Also, a fair amount of it is above ground so feels less claustrophobic and you don't have to endure the normal crushing in the LS/CG area.

Waterloo is also pretty close to City Hall, probably about the same walking distance as from Westminster. Its always nice as a tourist to go via Westminster tube and cross the bridge, lots of history.

It will be quite busy and vibrant south of the river near city hall at this time of year, from the London Eye right over past the Southbank centre and probably right along past Tower Bridge. Christmas markets and stuff.
