Long awaited film sequels

Read the news today that they are about to start filming Romy and Michelle 2.
I don't think it's ever a good idea to go back after so long. The new bill and ted was pretty rubbish. Haven't watched the new Ghostbusters, dumb and dumber or coming to America as they were all meant to be rubbish.

Other cult films they have been banging on about making a sequel for are dude where's my car and district 9. Always rumours about a new RoboCop following on from the first one by the original writers.

Are there any sequels where they've gone back after 20 -30 years and the film has been decent?

Oh and Mira Sorvino looks like Catherine deneuve now.

I want Dan Ackroyd to write a Blues Brothers prequel.
I want to see Jake and Elwood at the Morgan Park, at TickTock, and at the Kiwanis gig in Coal City, where Jake robbed the gas station.

It'd be redemption for the sub par Blues Brothers 2000

The second Joker film was absolutely awful. Which was such a shame because I thought the first was outstanding.

I know that it wasn’t very long awaited but I was pretty excited when I heard they were making a second. Huge let down.

Says at the end of the first film there would be but nothing has ever been said since and the cast are all Hollywoods biggest stars now.


Topgun Maverick was excellent. They got it just right

Bladerunner 2049 was pretty good I thought.

Agree with Acklam re: Ghostbusters afterlife (not seen the other one) thought it was decent, albeit arguably was part spin-off part sequel.

Clerks 3, the first 2 are some of my favourite ever films. 3 came out 16 years after 2 and is surprisingly good.

I'm still hopeful of a serial to the alita: battle angel movie, I enjoyed the first one, despite the bug eyes, and it was left on a point ready for the next film, there are always rumblings of it but I'll believe it when I see a trailer

Bladerunner 2049 is fantastic and a massively pleasant surprise, given I absolutely love the original and expected the sequel to be a tragic money grab.

Denis Villeneuve is a great director and really added to the lore or the original.
