Luciana Berger rejoins Labour Party

The comparison doesn't hold up. How do you propose Corbyn should have dealt with it? I believe him to have been put into an impossible position and the tarnishing of a man who's politics was built on anti-racism, as a racist is nothing short of a disgrace.

Of course. Left/Right or vice versa now are allowed only to exist, in terms of gaining political power, in a very tightly controlled area of acceptance. Corbyn was never, ever going to be PM and form a government. The 2017 result frightened the life out of all of them.
There’s a reason why “The Mother of all Parliaments” would never consider an encoded constitution and uses the same undemocratic electoral system which in the whole of Europe is shared only by Belarus.
Politicians are only the managers.

A major cause of the confusion is that Berger has consistently, and presumably intentionally, blurred the distinction between the abuse she has received from the left and from the far right, the effect of which has been to associate leftwingers with crimes that were in fact committed by fascists.
There are in fact three people who have actually gone to prison after being convicted of race hate crimes against Berger, not one of whom is a leftwinger. They are Garron Helm (who received a four-week sentence in October 2014), Joshua Bonehill-Paine (two years in January 2016) and John Nimmo (two years and three months in February 2017). All of them were active fascists.

Have to say I really hope Berger doesn't end up being an MP again. Even if you're the biggest centrist, Starmer cultist in the world, what would be the point? Her old constituents in Liverpool Wavertree don't seem to have been impressed by her as a local MP. And she really doesn't seem to have any kind of vision about the future of the country. Politically I don't agree much with say Nandy or Reeves but at least they have actual views of what they want to accomplish - Nandy with her towns stuff and Reeves with punishing people for being on benefits.

And as per the article above I just think Berger was horrible during the last leadership. The character assassination on Corbyn was a shameful period, as @Big_Nothing was just saying, but at least Corbyn was an MP and kind of fair game. Berger couldn't leave it at just insulting him though and had to try and gaslight the country into thinking ordinary Labour party members were mostly antisemitic, and especially the members of her CLP for wanting to deselect her on political grounds.

She's just a very typical example of an MP who is blatantly only interested in themselves. Anyone who's ever posted a comment on here along the lines of "don't vote for a party other than Labour, or not vote, or even criticise things Starmer says or does because you're helping the tories" shouldn't want Berger anywhere near their party.

Berger is exactly the sort of person that has grown up deciding they want to be a politician and then picked the side that suits her best. She has no principles or ideology, just a lust for power and attention. All the posh people that go through Eton and then do PPE at Oxford are exactly the same but at least most of them admit they are Tories. Our parliament is full of people that are the very definition of "anyone that wants power shouldn't be allowed it". They are all in it for the wrong reasons (for themselves and not the electorate).

Mike Gapes is back now. A man who left the Labour Party to set up another party, who stood for and actively campaigned against Labour for that party, is now welcomed back into the fold.

This is absolutely insane behaviour. They are so far detached from reality it’s scary. Brazenly lying in plain sight. I’m glad Starmer has told me in advance that he doesn’t need or want my vote because there’s no way I’d be voting for this shower of sh*t.

And all against party rules.

I presume by far left you mean anyone that isn't a Tory because far left would be communism, not mild socialism.

I hope you're left handed otherwise your username is bull****.

"I hope you're left handed otherwise your username is bull****"
Exactly this.
There are quite a few on here purporting to be Labour supporters, quoting the usual " i used to vote Labour but...." etc.
They aren't hard to spot.

Google Mike Gapes and Mainstream for an insight into what he was up to. And Saudi arms deals. I don’t think they’ll be mentioning those things on the news.

I think it’s also against Labour Party rules to stand against it in an election so not sure how the top brass have quite squared this off TBH.

If by "priority" you mean axing the cabinet position of shadow minister for mental health - held by an actual medical doctor - and replacing it with a strategy review led by a grifter, then yes, I can see what you mean.
Like replacing a Neurologist with "le plongeur".

I can’t really believe that Luciana Berger rejoining the Labour Party has upset people. I would imagine that the majority of the voting public won’t even notice. But then again it’s the usual few on here that have a problem with it!

Corbyn started his party yet?
I think quite a few MPs who didn’t support the party and its members came out looking really bad.
