Luther's back!!

Very disappointed..... totally over the top and so unrealistic verging on the comedic...

Just mine and the missus's opinion mind

I thought it was quite alright until they took a quick ferry from Dover to Norway, arriving before helicopters, that it really lost the plot and went silly.

Spending a long time under water in freezing conditions without any signs of hypothermia and with dry clothes a few minutes later was nonsense too.
At one point I did wonder if he was just going to but his seat belt underwater and drive along the sea bed back to the UK.

Good that the helicopters had divers ready just in case really too.

It was weird. Felt like they were going for some sort of Jason Bourne vibe compared to the BBC series.

Didn't mind it, but they should have just changed his name and not pretended there was any continuity.

It was quite ridiculous at times.

I hope they don’t try to squeeze any more out of what was once an interesting and entertaining concept.

Watched this over the weekend. Thought it was really poor. Can understand why it's been planned. Feels like the whole Luther thing is in the process of trying to transition into some sort of Bourne x Bond tribute.

I thought it was really good, but it just seemed far too condensed, but suppose you have to for a Film and it's always the same with Series > Film.

It wasn't going to be a patch on the Series, like the one with Alice etc, but I didn't expect ti to be, and treat it as a standalone.

Serkis really nails the part of playing a horrible b****d, looks like he doesn't even need to try, which is quite worrying.

Read an article online how they're looking to create a James Bond type character with Luther, with more movies on the way.

The end of the film sort of leads into this potentially...

I did think the same having watched it.

IT certainly felt like a transition from a gritty BBC British crime drama to an explosive over the top American action movie. His coat being his cape by all accounts.

Maybe his back up idea if not the next Bond.

What I didn't understand is how could a man holding a knife to the throat of another man, stood in a busy area not have a single person recording video footage.

Which would then appear online and on the news...

Too far fetched, and Ive always really Enjoyed Luther.

Yeah thats how i saw it, he's well down the odds for next Bond now so maybe he's thinking he turns Luther into a Bond type character, with a movie every year or 2.
