middlesbrough-2023-06-09-17-00

Getting here

Albert Park is located outside Middlesborough town centre.
Address - Albert Park, Linthorpe Road, Middlesbrough, TS1 3LB

Is there parking available?

There is parking available on Claireville Common, you can find this by following the postcode TS4
2HW. Blue Badge parking is available on site at Albert Park, this will be clearly signposted.

Will I be able to come and go during the day?

Please note this is a no re-entry event. Re-entry to the festival is not permitted, with the sole
exception of parents/guardians accompanying children under the age of 16.
Single use re-entry wristbands will only be issued on site at the festival to parents/guardians who are
in possession of a Child Ticket and this pass allows for re-entry to the festival with or without your
child.
The reason for this exception is because the festival is a family-friendly event, and we want to be
flexible to the needs of parents/guardians.
Adults not accompanying children to the festival will not be allowed re-entry. Single use re-entry
wristbands will also be available for disabled guests.
If you have a medical condition that may cause you to need to leave and re-enter the festival site,
you will be required to provide a medical exemption card or evidence from your doctors of this.

What is the age restriction?

All Ages are welcome at the event! However, all attending must hold a valid ticket, this includes
children and babies.
Please keep your children close and be aware that amplified noise presents a danger to vulnerable
hearing, so we would strongly recommend that you bring hearing protection for your children.
Children under 14 must be accompanied by an adult.

What should I do if I have a lost or found child?

Please speak immediately to the nearest member of staff, ideally someone in the security or
stewarding team but most staff members are able to raise an alert.

What food is available?

You can bring your own picnic into the main arena but we have a wide variety of catering on offer,
including BBQ, Indian, Mexican and Chinese. Unfortunately, we cannot allow alcohol to be brought
into, or out of the arena (a range of premium alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks will be on sale from
our bars).

Can I bring my own alcohol?

Due to licensing restrictions, you are not permitted to bring alcohol into the arena. There is a wide
range of premium alcoholic (and non-alcoholic) drinks available for purchase from our bars.

Can I bring soft drinks/water with me?

You are allowed to bring soft drinks/water with you (of not more than 500ml per bottle), as long as
these are unopened/sealed when you arrive. Anything considered open will be confiscated on the
gate. Camel packs (or similar) are not permitted. You may bring along a reusable water bottle. Please
note there will be free water points inside the arena so you can refill any empty water bottle
throughout the day.

Are there ATMs available on site?

There are no ATMs on site at this event. All bars accept cash or card/contactless payments.

Can I bring my own picnic table/chairs?

You can bring your own tables and chairs into the main arena but security may ask you to move
them to the perimeter of the arena if they are causing any obstruction. Chairs and picnic tables are
not allowed in the area between the sound desk and the front of the stage.

Can I bring a gazebo/small tent?

Small tents (up to a height of 1m) are permitted into the main arena, however, security may ask you
to move them to the perimeter of the arena if they are causing any obstruction. Gazebo’s and larger
tents are not permitted on site.

What items can I NOT bring with me?

As well as alcohol, no glass or sharp objects (including picnic cutlery) are permitted to be brought
into the event and all guests will be subject to a brief search on entry as part of our security policy.

Can I bring a barbeque?

Due to safety concerns, barbecues of any type are prohibited anywhere on the festival site.

Are dogs allowed?

Dogs are not permitted anywhere on the festival site, with the exception of guide dogs.

Drugs Policy

Kilimanjaro Live has a zero tolerance policy on the use of, or the dealing in, illegal drugs on site,
including legal highs. Drug enforcement laws are applicable on this site and SIA security is on site to

deal with drug offences in accordance with national guidelines. If you deal in drugs, you will be
arrested. Neither anti-social nor illegal behaviour shall be tolerated, and participants shall leave
themselves liable for evictions from the site and possible prosecution.
Experimenting with drugs can lead to adverse reaction. If you do take drugs and you become ill,
depressed or frightened, please ask a steward to direct you to our on-site welfare centre which can
help and support you.
You may be searched at the entrance. Any items which the organisers consider may be used in an
illegal or offensive manner will be confiscated.

Accessibility

Kilimanjaro Live welcomes disabled festival goers and takes all reasonable measures to assist with
their attendance and enjoyment of the event. At the same time, the festival takes place in the open
countryside and guests with accessibility needs should be aware that the main arena, car park and
surrounding areas are, naturally, fairly uneven and may be difficult to navigate. Stewards will be
available, subject to peak movements, to assist disabled guests in getting into the main arena.
Accessible toilets are provided on site.
There is no covered viewing platform at this event, but there is a wheelchair platform reserved for
wheelchair users. However, if disabled guests find that there are specific problems resulting from
their disability, please contact one of the stewards who will be happy to do everything possible to
help you.
Please note disabled tickets need to be arranged ahead of time and not on the day of the event.
How do I apply for a personal assistant ticket?
In our efforts to make this event accessible to everyone, we offer disabled ticket holders, subject to
availability, a free ticket for a personal assistant.
The wheelchair platform is located in front of the main stage.
To book a space on the wheelchair platform and/or to request a free carer ticket, please contact accessibilty@kilimanjolive.co.uk

Haven`t heard a peep from this yet

Sound system may be set up a different way but considering I live half a mile away I thought I`d have heard something by now, especially as people were saying they could here AM at the Riverside from near me

I was near Cumberland Road between 5 and 7 and could hear it very clearly

Linny road was full of people who looked like they’d been and had a great time..

I got chance of free tix as I’m a big madness fan, but something put me off about watching them in Albert park.. think it was the experience I had with idiots near me when we saw them at hardwick live…

I’m all for having a drink at a concert but lots were so gone it was painful to watch and be near and several people were looking to spoil things for anyone near them…

It’s a shame because I really do like madness.. 😞

Possibly an all day festival thing. Didn't think it was too bad last night. Possibly the average age might have been slightly higher too.

I was there, it was a great night, Madness much better live than I expected, the crowd really enjoyed it and a few were wasted as you would expect but didn’t see any problems. All age groups as well.

Albert Park - a great venue, hopefully more to come, we were home by 10.30ish, instead of being stuck in a queue trying to get through Newcastle or equivalent.

Really enjoyed it. Everybody seemed to be having a good time. No problems that I saw. Plenty of room for all, sound was good. Big screens for those who didn't want to get too close. Bar was the usual rip off at £7 a pint. Can bar was £6:50 for a can of Somersby. Food outlets didn't seem to be doing much business when I was there but didn't go in until 7:30.

Music was brilliant new almost all the words to all but two songs.

Anyone know where the stage times are for Rock The North East show today. Was thinking of going if I can see the main bands I want to see in a reasonable timeframe without having to watch a load of music that has no interest to me. Had a search for line up/timings but cannot find it anywhere.

I think on the other post it said they were announced on the day.

Good night, woke up and seen a transaction on my bank app for £26, then realised I’d bought 4 cans of lager 😩
Agree it was a rip off (as expected). At least they didn't insist on opening them so you could stick them in your bag/pockets. Saved multiple trips to the bar.
