Manchester United's next manager: Who should replace Ralf Rangnick at Old Trafford?

Could imagine Warnock there 'cos it's a cracking little club .. he'd replace the underperforming Maguire with Pelts .. Put Uche up front .. rightly call out Ronaldo for moaning .. he'd loan out Pogba because his head wasn't straight .. and in the summer take them all for a barbie at his gaff in Cornwall and Sharon could look after them .. They'd be a steady mid-table for years to come ..

And think of all the self portraits he could hand out from that bum bag on their pre season Far Eastern tour to their heartlands.

Man United will spend another £200 million this summer only to remain miles behind Man City and Liverpool.

Pochettino is the one they should go for. He took a good Spurs side and made them outstanding for a couple of seasons. Spurs did have better players then than Man United do now though.

Pochettino, by a mile.

But for him to succeed they’ll have to commit to him rebuilding and let him do his thing, which they won’t, because they’re all about cosplaying as the biggest club in the world whilst Liverpool and City share all the trophies. He’s pointless as a celebrity manager, terrible fit for PSG. His thing is getting smaller teams to overachieve and improving players.

Tuchel might do a great job there. But they’re a basket case really aren’t they.

Simeone is in 33m a year at Atheltico. So circa £760 a week or circa 635k a week. I don’t think Man U would pay that.
I don't think the fans would go for Simeone. His Atleti side are much more progressive these days but still default to attritional football when things go against (which would be often if he was managing Utd).

The manager they need is Carlo Ancelotti, not happening in the immediate future though.
For the squad they’ve got now I agree. He’s probably the best manager of “superstars” out there, because he just chills with a cigar and lets them do their thing.

I don’t think it’s enough for the Premier League though, too many good teams with proper managers. It’s not like the other European leagues where if you’ve got the best talent and keep them happy, you’ll walk the league because the gap in quality is so huge. Pep and Klopp have raised the bar.

Simeone’s another one like Pochettino for me. Amazing for a long term rebuilding project and building an identity, but that underdog mentality isn’t going to cut it at United.

Van Gaal said this week that United were a “commercial club, not a football club” - which made me laugh, because (1) he’s right, and (2) he was F***ing diabolical at United.
