Marc Bola warned

Pathetic, complete & utter waste of money & time

I would like to ask the people who 1st thought of loking in to the past history of kids if they've actually got an unblemished history, never done, or said anything wrong when a youngster
Scary to think that there are people out there that trawl through years and years of social media posts hoping to find something 'juicy'

Unbelievable, but its over and thankfully he doenst have a ban. Time to move on

Could you imagine the write up if the job was advertised
Unblemished history, someone who never used social media, never said a word out of place, basically, someone that's never exsisted ;)

Fearlessly the FA have spared no expense in pursuit of a 14-year-old boy who made a remark referencing sexual orientation. I am confident that they will show similar courage in withdrawing from the World Cup in Qatar, where homosexuality can be punished by death.

The totally unfounded rumour I heard was that it was a PR company that grassed him up. They sell reputation management services that include clearing up your social media history, and they reported Bola to drum up demand.

Even if true, in all honsety it shouldnt have gone further than the initial phonecall, they should have replied to the person making the call, have you ever said, or done, anything wrong when so young

I bet someone went looking for that tweet after the Fulham game. Some joker has a screenshot of a Dael Fry tweet about pot he tweets every time Fry is in the press.

The key thing for me here is the club have done everything to look after Bola. He's clearly distraught. So well done Boro. And shame on the FA for not caring.

So the tweet was deeply offensive so much so that Bola immediately deleted it when it was brought to his attention. But the FA intended to publish it in their written judgement. Beyond fecking belief!!
"This is awful. Nobody should have to read this. Let's publish it far and wide so everyone can read the thing we don't want anyone to have to read and be offended by the thing we find offensive" 🤦‍♂️

“The FA confirmed to JOE this week that a memorandum of understanding it signed with Qatar's Football Association in 2018 is still in place. “

Took their F***ing time over it didn't they. The punishment is in line with that given to another footballer. I don't know why it had to take several months. Probably so some legal people could earn a bit of cash.
The original decision was made back in November. There was then a delay because Bola appealed against details of the Tweet being included in the "Written Reasons" document that the FA normally publishes after a hearing.

The hearing on that appeal was held on December 16 and its findings are dated December 24. Not sure why it took another 2 weeks to publish the result.

If he had been an adult and wrote something homophobic now, I would get him being fined or something and told to apologise/take a course in diversity but it was when he was little more than a kid. Hopefully he no longer holds that kind of view but the whole thing has been ridiculous.

We already know what would have happened if he was an adult, as another player was punished for a similar offence.

A four match ban, a fine and an education course.

Because Bola was a child, he only has to attend a course, there's no ban and there is no fine.

Both of those punishments were for historic tweets, if the tweets were from now the punishments would probably be harsher.

When I was a a teenager 13 or 14 I said and done things I should not have, however it never got broadcast on a social media platform for the world to have a look at. But you know you grow up learn from your own experiences and move on. That's what should of happened here. Disgraceful that it came to this.

I hope the FA covered the club/Bola's costs of hiring market-leading employment law specialists, and then some.

"Instead, the 2012 rules left punishment at the discretion of the three-person panel. In November, Bola was given a warning as to his future conduct. He was also ordered to attend an education programme within four months and pay the commission’s full costs."
