Matt Crooks

He is what he is, Crooks is a stand up player, and you know what you will get with him, strengths and weaknesses.

For me, with another season in the champ around the corner, and for the cost of him in both keeping and what would be gained in selling him, its a no brainer to keep.

As said above he will always chip in with goals - he is the Thomas Muller of the Championship ;)

Love the big tree but he's not a Carrick player is he really. I absolutely think he could play a key role in a side pushing for the playoffs, just not this side.

No problem with keeping him if he's prepared to accept a (potentially) even more limited playing role next season. As others have said, versatile and able to score goals, and I get the impression he's a good person to have around for squad morale.

Putting it like that, probably more his decision than the club's if he stays.

There is definitely an argument for keeping him. I just worry about his motivation if he’s just seen as a bit part player coming on in a position he doesn’t particularly enjoy and In my opinion doesn’t suit. If we stayed played how we did under Wilder then he would be a valuable squad member.

He may just see his contract out here of course.
He might be happy fighting for his place. It would all depend who else came in, if it was Southampton and they offered him more money and said he'd play every week he'd be off in a shot, as long as their bid met our valuation. So many variables.

Yeah that’s what I think. Carrick probably is happy to keep him and utilise him in the way he is currently and probably even to a lesser extent as I would have Coburn and hopefully new signings ahead of him in pecking order. So yeah, probably down to Crooks himself
