Mattress recommendations

I've recently started to wake up in mornings with a bit of a stiff, erm...back. I'm pretty sure it's down to my spring mattress coming to the end of its life.

Have any of you good folk tried the Simba or Emma, or anything similar to them?

What mattress do you have, and what would you recommend to me?

We have an "Otty", it's a hybrid so springs and memory foam, had it for 2 years and it's still exactly the same today as the day we bought it. Excellent Mattress.

They all come with a 100 night try guarantee with free returns. Have a look through and try them.

I bought the Eve mattress about 5 years ago now and it's been excellent

We discovered that our best nights kips were when we had stayed in a Premier Inn, so bought one of those (just a mattress, not a hotel) and its been great

I love the Hypnos Luxor mattress. It is a medium mattress and is as comfortable as the day It was bought some 3 yrs ago or so. I know Premier Inn use Hypnos, not sure if it is this exact model, but I suspect mattresses are one area where you do ‘get what you pay for’

My nana always said there are 2 things worth spending good money on: shoes and a mattress. If you're not in one you're in the other

Some really good suggestions here, thanks everyone. For the amount of time we all spend in bed I think it'd be wise to purchase something of decent quality.

We have the Emma - we went to memory foam about ten years ago and I’ve never slept better. Would definitely reccomend losing the springs.

Bought a firm mattress with pocket springs from John Lewis and it gives a perfect nights sleep.
Good for the old back.
Probably cheaper elsewhere, but the quality is good and made to last.

Thanks for the advice. My son’s been on at me for a new mattress for months so just bought a Hypnos Opulence in the sale at Land of Beds

We have an Emma and it’s great. Took a bit of getting used to Mind. But you have to find out what type of mattress you want really. I’ve found over the last few years or so that your pillow is as important too.
