McGree haters

Did you notice that , once again, when he was taken off in the second half, we got pushed further and further back into our own box and looked under growing pressure?

Coincidence?

Like I said a few weeks ago, our system and ultimate success lies on McGree and his link up play.

We are going to need him in midfield given the lack of options there. Far from convinced about Mowatt too.
I agree, Mowatt hasn’t done anything wrong I think, but he hasn’t gripped a game like I thought he would. Hopefully he is still settling in.

Mowatt and the team need some more positive games to settle and gel. Last night's result is key as are the next winnable games. If we lose to far inferior opposition and support gets restless, the opposite may occur.

Ther have been several posters who never wanted to see him in a boro shirt ever again after his first couple of outings.

It’s a funny old game.
You always get one or two like that frankly. One thing the lad needs to practice is his shooting. By his admission he conceded he could easily have scored 3 last night

More to do with replacing him with a defender and a change in formation to 5-4-1 than missing MrGree's wizardry IMO. He did have a very good game but I think this was more Wilder's game management than anything else
He was replaced by Whatmore, then we didn’t make another sub till the 89th minute

I wouldn't say I hate McGree or any boro players. I'd prefer to go back to 2 strikers up top though. For moments like when Muniz put that ball across from the left and nobody was in the box.

I'd be interested to see McGree on the left of the midfield 3 again, now that he'd have Clarke behind him.

When he did that and nobody was there, the frustration from Muniz was so evident, couldn't believe nobody had gambled.

Thought he was a key player at Watford too causing all sorts of issues for the Watford defence. I like him a lot. Laughed out loud when somebody last week after that game described him as a "George Saville" clone.
I did wonder if some people had a dislike of him based on his resemblance to George saville?

Billy, haters isa bit over the top! I don’t think anyone can be classed as that
I don't like the word haters either but I was surprised how much stick he has got over the past few weeks. You just have to read the comments in the "Sell Mcgree" thread to see a lot were quick to jump on his back. He is starting to settle and believe he will be as key as Tavernier was to the side last season. Not saying he is as good as Tav but as the season progresses Mcgree will be instrumental in our success.

Mcgree is in a new role he's excelling at. I think more games he plays in this role his finishing will improve as he'll be used to having the chances

McGree took his goal really well, excellent first touch that set up the chance to score - however he should have had two more with a bit more composure. He’s probably had more chances this season than any other Boro player, so he really needs to work on his finishing if he’s going to play as a number 10

He's playing a different role to Tav. He hasn't got Tav's energy to get back and cover but for me he's a better player in the attacking third.

His finishing is nowhere near good enough for a 10. We'll create chances for him and he will continue to miss them. Like playing Watmore up front. They are both decent players but not good finishers.

He missed 2 last night that were really weak but he created the chance himself for one of them, like the goal. His goal is hard to judge because the defender got a touch so would be have scored without it? Impossible to know
