Messi to Inter Miami!

For a Spanish speaking mega rich superstar it’s a great move. He will run rings around them for a few years yet if he can stay focused and accept the lower standard of the league. It may not make him as much money as a move to Saudi but the Americans will love him.

He’ll make an absolute fook load in endorsements that he could never make in Saudi and will give him endorsements for the next 20 years even when he’s retired he’ll be a big name in the worlds biggest economy

How's it better? Doesn't beckham get paid millions off the Saudis and then it just goes in to messis pocket. Morally its all bull****

US league is shocking so probably not much different to saudi

Apparently being offered a stake in ownership of the club, being reported over here?
I thought he was going to be offered an option for an MLS franchise like David Beckham was..

Las Vegas or Phoenix? Indianapolis? Detroit?

My local team nowadays. I thought it would be weird, watching “Miami” seemed like it would be exotic and unfamiliar, especially after the past 15 years or so of Boro. But to their credit, whenever I’ve been to watch them they’ve tried ever so hard to make me feel at home by being absolutely shîte.
Looks like I'll be going to at least one Chicago Fire game this year then 😂
GS - do you have a season ticket? I saw prices for one off games go up from ~$40 to ~$400!

Better than Saudi mind.

I love America, many American things and all the Americans I know personally.
But though I think it's better from a footballing perspective, I don't think the idea that morally or socially it's a more positive thing because of the actions of the Saudi state in contrast to the US government stands up at all.
I personally think the actions of the US government and state have been far, far more damaging and reprehensible than those of the Saudi Government.
The killing of half a million civilians in illegal unnecessary wars fought on completely spurious basis.
The use of White Phosprous a chemical weapon in Iraq, which is a war crime.
State sponsored use of torture.
Illegal imprisonment without charges in Guantanamo bay.
Racist armed police force which routinely murders Black and Hispanic citizens.
An epidemic out of control gun culture, which the US government steadfastly resists any attempt to change.
The election of a racist, misogynistic, narcissistic nut job, who boasted on camera about sexually assaulting women.
Massive contributors to global pollution, whilst stubbornly refusing to sign up to protocols which would decrease the damage it is doing.

I don't have any problems with people wanting to work or do business in the US. Many countries in the world do things which are terrible, including ours, but I also apply that principle to Saudi Arabia and any other Middle eastern Islamic country.

I don't. But I'm hoping that the fact it's Soldier Field (64,000 capacity) means supply meets demand and keeps prices down.

Busquets, Alba, and Iniesta to join him too apparently. It's a shame Barca are still in a financial mess.
