MET POLICE INVESTIGATING NO 10

Aha.....the real reason for D*ck's U-turn. This just in....

Dear Harry,

Cressida d*ck has finally confirmed that the Met Police will investigate the parties held in No 10 Downing Street and Whitehall after we initiated formal legal proceedings against them.

We first wrote to the Met six weeks ago warning that their decision not to investigate reports of parties in Downing Street appeared to be unlawful and we would sue them unless they reversed (or properly explained) it.

The Met's determination to outsource this vital job to the civil service, via Sue Gray, was unbelievable then – and remains so now. It is hard to imagine the Met Police acting “in concert with” any other workplace that is suspected of wrongdoing, because they “have access to all sorts of things” and “know the systems” (to quote d*ck’s announcement today).

We remain deeply concerned by the perception that it’s one rule for the Government and one rule for everyone else.

The Met must now ensure that justice is not only done but seen to be done – and the Prime Minister is treated as anyone else would be.

We are discussing today’s developments with our legal team and will update you on the next steps in our legal action soon.

Thank you,

Jo Maugham - Good Law Project

I thought that too when I saw it. I am sure people have been fined when they weren't aware that they were going to be breaking lockdown guidance.
There's a whole industry based on duping people into speeding fines or badly marked bus only roads.

I got done for doing a U-turn on a road in Oxford (the High St) as soon as I noticed a buses only sign after I'd passed a stationary bus.

Months later I got a nice photo of blissfully ignorant me at the wheel, heading towards an unforseen £80 fine.

I later revisited the high street on foot and saw the small print on the first bus only sign, with something like 'between 8am and 6pm'.

I contested it as I was temporarily delivering for Amazon at the time, but had a large car full of 50 or so packages all for addressee in Oxford centre, which is a sh!tshow in town planning and one way streets.

I won my case, but I later saw a report on the local news with disgruntled motorists claiming that the same camera which got me, had made the council £3M?? that year.

Utter sham. Gray can’t publish whilst the Met investigates, they’ll take so long that the whole thing will be forgotten about - or so the Tories hope.

How long before the investigation concluded do you reckon - 6 months?

They were talking about a year or more on News today.
