Michael carrick into 6/1 second fav

They were extremely specific about Carrick.
As I originally posted, there might be other issues re Keane.

I presume these are the comments you mean.

He seems to take issue with Carrick being proud of the players putting in a shift in his 3 games in charge when those same players weren't pulling their weight under Solskjaer, when Carrick was a coach.

It's whether you think the buck lies with the manager, the coaching staff or the players for efforts on the pitch.

Keane was very vocal in his defense of Solskjaer, and saying the players were at fault.

Good chance that SG will go back to his old (tried and trusted) stomping ground. I think MC would be an ok choice if only just to bring in some experience with younger players. MC seems level headed and perhaps the most important factor here is loyal as we’ve lacked this key Ingredient in recent managerial appointments.

We could get Carrick to get his boots on, couldn't be any slower or less effective than what we have had in there?

Could be like having Robbo as player manager, and next year we'll sign Juninho back again.

I'm open to the idea of Carrick, but he might benefit from a real technical tactics man.

Would Carrick have the same pull as Robson did?
Even though we havent that money anymore, would he persuade senior quality internationals to come to Boro?

What’s carrick’s style? Does he have one? He only had 3 games at Man Utd so don’t think he’d have been trying much?

Assume he played in teams that generally played with 4 at the back.

He’d be an interesting choice and think most would get behind him. He would need to hit the ground running though, but suppose anyone would.

Judging by a quick Google search he plays 4-1-4-1

Well this is interesting I picked carrick the other day as a probable based on the old Robbo model but I didn’t really think it was a possibility.

Hmm interesting

I'm going to day I'd be happy with that....as mentioned earlier it does have the hallmarks of a classic Gibson appointment...
I think i can get behind this in a big way....if its true...could be the start of a period of sustainable progress and harmony between all elements at the club...
