Mick Lynch

You might have missed my Juninho bit, he was also doing his job very well
I agree, its fine for others to hero worship but I thought that was OTT aswel, I was a kid when juninho was in his pomp and I too joined the bandwagon, now I look back at it and think it was a bit much, I'm a bit of a spoilsport mind, I enjoy games a lot but um not one for chanting peoples names, I just find it strange

I might add i don't boo either, I find that wierd aswel when people boo other players or theor own, or even other fans

So imagine a man justly sitting there with no emotion on his face barely moving lol, come over for a chat im sure I sound loads of fun!!!

Gaz, I dont understand grown men hero worshiping a bloke who is doing his job, albeit a good one. I dont get why people refer to him as if they know him, its just a passing comment. It seems to have disgruntled you and perhaps I should have just kept it to myself lol

I think you need to clarify your repeated claim that people refer to him as if they know him, with examples or something, cos it’s difficult to know what you are referring to on this thread.
Also, as one of those posters who has previously felt the need to tell everyone that you always vote Labour, I really can’t fathom why it would be difficult to understand why the average working class Labour voting bloke finds what Mick Lynch has to say interesting, or enjoyed his recent tv appearances?

Think this is a bit deep here to be honest. When someone refers to a person they don't know as simply "mick" as if its someone that lived over the road from them I find it a tad odd. I just also genuinely realise that Mick Lynch was such a big deal, I honestly though people would have thought he's a good man doing a good job, I'm just surprised to see he's such a household name / hero of the working people, I hadn't honestly realised he'd had such a big impact and was interested to learn why he's struck such a chord. But fair play lol

I also think (as stated) I have a fairly limited emotional range at times so perhaps its harder for me to understand it when a person captures the imagination, does that make sense. I think I do struggle with that and it can come across as confrontation rather than what it is, which is that my "interest has been peaked"

Yep, that’s fair enough. I’ve not noticed it too often on here, to be honest, but the same complaint is levelled at those who refer to Alexander Johnson as ‘Boris’, so fair‘s fair.
That said, I think the complaint there is down to ’Boris’ being a rehearsed and calculated alter-ego/character designed to suck in those who don’t know what the real Alexander de Pfeffel Johnson is all about, whereas Mick Lynch seems a pretty genuine, what you see is what you get kind of chap.

Yep, that makes sense 👍 Thanks for replying.

Opposition MP's should use the Mick Lynch template when dealing with these liars.

Don't know if any of them are capable of it though.

No chance, its practically impossible for any politician to answer a question with a straight answer, and its never their personal answer its always the "party line". Labour don't tell lies like the tories do which is something

as it happens i do know him.

i went to a Boro match with him once, away at Brentford, Pulis was our manager, st pats day 1-1 Traore scored for boro - boro tickets were all sold out, but he had a spare in the brentford side stand, not far from the dug-outs and he asked me if i wanted it.

after the game we were in the pub on the corner (the one along from the away end) went in the back room were the pool table is, and had a couple of beers, talking to boro fans, i knew a couple - big football fan is Mick Lynch, Chelsea is his team, but he goes to watch Brentford mainly as his Boy (whose ticket i got) ) supports them and his girl played for the Brentford womens junior team.

he also knows his music and was at a lot of the very early punk & new wave gigs in london - it was around music/gigs that we first met.
I'll put money he was at the Battle of Stamford Bridge (Play Offs 1988).

a great interview, interesting chap
