Clearly Salah is probably Liverpools best player, his contract runs out June 2025, and i believe clubs can approach him in January? Liverpool still haven't approached him about a new contract.

I can't believe Liverpool haven't been in discussion so my feeling is that he means he hasn't received an offer because they haven't reached his demands in the initial discussions.

This is his way of saying - 'hurry up and keep me on'

He definitely wants to stay otherwise he wouldn't be blatantly asking for a contract offer.

He clearly looks after himself, so there's no reason why he can't stay at Liverpool for another 2 years, playing at the very top...then go grab that cash cow in Saudi in 2027.

Maybe they wanna see what stupid offer a Saudi club makes in Jan for a player with 4 months left?

They might have the PL title in the bag by then anyway.

I know the world of football works in strange ways.
This seems beyond odd.

Surely Liverpool know whether they want to keep him or not.
In either case just be transparent.

Equally if Sarah is playing games - call him out on it.

I’m sure he can sign a pre contract with a foreign club in January get a massive signing on fee.Think he will see his contract out.

A number of great players have left or come to the end of their carers at Liverpool and at all other clubs, the club keeps playing, players come and go and new greats are established.

Which seems odd if they get rid of Salah and have to get a replacement. Why not just give Salah a 2 year contract and have him and Doak fight for the spot, Salah can be a great person to learn from.
It’s a huge bet to have Doak as his replacement.
He is years away from that level and may never even get there.

Suspect Liverpool know all that tho

If Salah and his agent are working well together, anything Salah says in the media will be part of their strategy to get him as good a deal as possible, so should only be viewed in that light.

He strikes me as a disciplined enough man to stick to a comms strategy rather than mouthing off randomly.

I get the feeling this is not all it appears to be and Mo is paving the way for him to leave while laying the blame firmly on the club.

I would imagine the club have asked about a new deal. Maybe the initial response or demand was crazy, or less than positive.

That said aren’t Van Dijk and TAA contract also up at end of season.

They should be paying him what he's worth and comparable to those of a similar standard.

I'm stunned they have left it so late as to risk losing him on a FREE at the end of the season.

He's already the highest paid player in their entire history, on £350,000 a week, a ridiculously large sum.

Only De Bruyne and Haaland earn more, and they're at a richer club.
