Mogga interview on bbc tees

Do people not understand mogga has a job to do and doesn't owe us anything. He is manager of Sunderland. Not come out and big us and slag the ref. Its the refs mistake today same as Blackburn. He has Sunderland fans to pander to you, you big babies
I respect managers who are honest, not manager's who feel the need to pander to a fanbase.

It wasn't a penalty and Mowbray should have either admitted this or not said anything at all.

What's Moggas record against us since being our manager ? Brighton and Sunderland have sussed us out. Shame we played better 1-0 down with 10 men. C what happens against Watford without Fry.

Before being our manager he was at West Brom. Played us 4 times, beat us twice, drew once and lost on penalties once.

As Blackburn manager he played us 8 times, beat us 3 times, drew 4 and lost once.

As Sunderland manager he has won 1, lost 1.

So played 14, won 6, drew 5, lost twice outright and once on penalties.

Mogga rarely shows emotion about Boro and hasn’t since he left in 1991. Even as manager he rarely went down the chest-thumping “Boro til I die” sentimental route, save for one or two comments about the smell of bovril at Ayresome.

Even the Gazette will write headlines like “Mogga loves the Boro but will plot their downfall” when in actual fact he said nowt about loving Boro and a lot about plotting our downfall.

Obviously he is a Teessider (still), grew up as a fan and has played for and managed the club, we know he will have affection towards the Boro, but he deliberately never really shows it because he’s a professional football manager with a job to do and has had a fairly successful career (been almost constantly employed in top leagues for nearly 20 years).

He tries to treat us like any other club and can’t blame him for that. Do people really expect him to say “love Boro me, they were robbed today!”?

Really don’t get the hero worship with Mogga. Managed a Sunderland team to a win against a Boro team today and defended a player who almost blinded Dael Fry.

Imagine someone like Juninho doing the same, wouldn’t happen.

A bang average manager as well when he was at the healm.

Sorry anyone if you see him as a legend but he’s built different to anyone I would ever class as a club legend.

Anyway, in Carrick we trust - We are going places with this man.

We'll get the last laugh in the end. Let's see where we both finish in the table.

It's not hero worship its respect and admiration for who he is as a person and what he represents to our club.

He captained a mostly very young and inexperienced team through very difficult times after liquidation and embodied what was many fans favourite ever boro team, mine included.

You don't have to meet him to know how humble he is, someone who is universally respected in football circles and an all round class act.

But he's also a strong character and will always be honest in his opinions, like them or not.

I have loads of time for him, he's one of life good guys.

I'd have him back here as manager one day in a heartbeat.

Guessing you’re too young to have seen him as a player. How long did Juninho stick around for when we went down?

He's a great guy although I think he has been less than magnanimous in the past as opposition manager he was fine yesterday. Hes a professional and his loyalty is with Sunderland so I wish him absolutely zero success until he move clubs.
