More Gutted Today Than Last Week

Am I the only one who was quite chilled about losing last week, well got over it fairly quickly, and now seeing the build up about plucky Luton and Coventry is more gutted. This should be us and we should be hammering those anti-football hooligans from Bedfordshire. Coventry have stolen our place in the play off final, as Leicester stole our League Cup and West Ham our FA Cup final place. We shall overcame, UTFB

I'm the opposite of that really.

I was a bit crushed for a couple of days after the semi final but I've watched it back and got it out of my system pretty much. Coventry didn't steal our place, it was a 50/50 game where they took their chance, that's football. One thing I realised watching it back, we had soooo many corners and free kicks, if we had any kind of threat from them we would have won the game, specialist set peice coach next season please Boro.

I'm going to watch the final today as it is often an enthralling dramatic game, not bothered who wins.

Coventry also took our place in the place in the Premiership in 97 when we had 3 points docked😭.
I wasn't too bad last week but spent all day yesterday thinking about where we would have been on our journey to London, setting off about now, arriving about now checking in etc. I will watch the match but not the build up, thinking about what could have been.

Was chilled last week, still chilled today. Just wasn't to be. Another season in the Championship, building, developing isn't the end of the world, and short term pain long term gain. Hopefully.....

Really enjoyed watching Carricks football. Fine tuning it and learning from the mistakes of last season ...... genuinely looking forward to the summer transfer window, and next season can't come soon enough. Think the future is bright at Boro, the playoff defeat just a bit of a setback, that's it.

Good luck to whoever wins today 👍

Felt a bit gutted last night to be fair, thinking about how excited I would have been had it been the eve of the final for us.

Only got ourselves to blame though really. It was set up perfectly for us after drawing at their place. Still can't believe the one and only time we don't score at the Riverside under Carrick ends up being the 2nd leg playoff semi-final. In reality though we'd lost our way well before that game.

I'm not excited about the prospect of another season in the Championship but we just have to hope we can get the recruitment right in the summer. Chuba will be off in my opinion, but hopefully we reinvest the money into the squad.

yeah, I'm over it.... it's just footy & nothing to be done about it now.. Looking forward to next season, hopefully a promotion push & would much prefer that than the relentless "Michaels Carrick's Middlesbrough.." & the usual guff the media troll out.. just because it is the 'Premier League'

Stolen our place?
We played them 3 times on the trot, failed to beat them in all 3 and were the better side in the second leg.
Gutted yes, but not robbed
Didn't I spell it out clearly enough? Was trying to be ironic, similarly Leicester didn't steal our Cup, they equalised when we failed to manage the game, and West Ham scored and we didn't, despite numerous chances (looking at you Chris Riggott)

I was gutted last week. Over it now but totally avoiding any coverage of the final. I'll check the score and that's it.

I’ll feel better when I see a child in tears of either team at the final whistle. Thank f&@k that’s not us again is my immediate thought

Not bothered in the slightest, we failed to beat Coventry over 2 (well 3 actually) games so they rightfully take their place at Wembley today instead of us

Had we been robbed by some kind of referee decision then maybe still would have had sour grapes about not being in London this weekend

I think cov will be torn apart if they dont go up with gyokeres etc looking for move away, so I think they’ll struggle to repeat this season

But Luton though will just go back to their smash mouth tactics and be the same again next season, so for that reason I want Luton out of the league.

Always want team that finished 3rd to win. Just feels fair. Coventry got in playoffs due to blackburns and milwalls ineptitude.

Over 4 games tbf!

I still feel a bit irked and the truth is that it was not long ago Boro were playing the kind of football that today’s 2 teams would not have lived with.
To me, I think we were kidding ourselves when we thought momentum does not matter . It did and partly due to injuries we never recovered the run we had been on.

Coventry didn't steal anything from us. I wish them well today. I suspect they would be stronger promotion rivals than Luton next season so I'd rather they went up (same with Barnsley as opposed to Sheff Wed from League 1)

The weight of the lead balloon lifted a few days after the conclusion of our season. But I'm giving the final a miss to avoid any tinge of disappointment

Coventry could be in for a long afternoon if they concede set pieces at anything approaching the rate they did against us.

Would rather see the Sky Blues go up, but with Luton finishing 3rd, they would be more deserving.

And players that actually attack the ball!
