Mowbray until the end of the season

Okay, who else is there?
Are you implying that Mowbray is the only option?

There will be a long list of mangers linked should Edward's go. As fans we will all have our opinions on who we do or do not like. In the same way some fans where not keen with Edwards. But i would be worried if Mowbray was the standout candidate. The guy has had a very tough few years and i hope he relaxes and enjoys the rest of life in comfort.

As for who i think, Viveash and/or Wattling. Other than that I can only really name the usual suspects some id be open to some i wouldn't but ultimately, we don't know how any of them would perform in post

Okay, who else is there?
I have said it once and will say it again
Giovanni Van Bronckhorst is the stand out candidate .
In the country
Has experience
Has charisma
Has knowledge
Can attract players
Plays an exciting brand of football

Steven Gerrard the next best option

All I’ll say is that quite a vocal contingent of Boro fans treated Mogga atrociously on his way out of the club last time (one of the most disgraceful and embarrassing things I’ve ever been associated with as a Boro fan) - why as a fan of the club and a legend would Mogga put himself through the emotional wringer of that again?

The issue is, whoever comes in, will have ideas that they need the team to take on and ideally you need more than an international break to do that, without seeing a dip
In form before a bounce.
My glass is half empty today, but no matter who comes in, I’m resigned to the normal post Christmas dip happening pre Christmas, as well as post.

Please no. Love him to bits, but he’s not the answer.

So many posts on so many threads just listing anyone with history at the club, ex managers, ex players. How about just appointing a decent manager and not worrying about that?
Yeah, this.

Everyone was always crying about "jobs for the boys" with Carrick, and the moment the manager position is available it's always just "bring back Mogga! Get Boateng in!"

The problem is how do we plan for a long term appointment in the middle of the season, this isn't a situation anyone planned for. Mowbray until the end of the season is fine with me. I'll be amazed if it's anyone long term unless there's a high profile sacking the next few weeks.

Gibbo needs to break with tradition and get Challinor. Now is not the time to hamstring ourselves by ignoring managers already* in a job.

As much as i love Mogga, absolute not. This is our best shot at promotion in years, we cant afford to waste it with a temporary appointment.

Said on another thread because it’s true, the closest we’ve come to being relegated to League 1 since 1986 was Mowbray’s last season. We were absolutely shocking.

Pretty sure he had a worse record than Woody over their last 18 months, happy to be corrected.

I absolutely love Tony Mowbray by the way, legend of a man.

He's the man for me if Edwards goes.

There's not many managers available at our level, and I think he'd be the perfect fit until the end of the season.
Not for me, we should be permanently tracking the best candidates across Europe. We don't want a stand in or temporary fix

JW overall win rate was 29%

TM win rate in his final 18 months was 40%

If we are talking about ex's then:

Karanka until the end of the season see how he does and if he does well extend his contract.

Robbie Keane if we don't mind poaching from another club, he seems to be doing really well as a manager.

Carrick part 2 with the backroom staff we have now.

I would prefer any of the above before Mowbray, for the simple fact is he hasn't been well and I wouldn't want the fan base to turn on him if he wasn't successful, let him enjoy Middlesbrough as a fan and legend, it must of hurt him a lot how things turned out last time.

If its true about Kieran Scott leaving, hiw woild Mogga fit into that role? He always had an eye for a player and did tremendously well with his acquisitions as manager during very austere times.

I’m hearing Scott is leaving for Norwich and Mowbray is taking charge, whether it’s temporary, still not sure

No thanks, yesterday's man.

Poor stint in his most recent job and even despite some positive showings at Sunderland he was quickly eclipsed by a better coach.
