Personally people should live in the ward they want to represent, for my vote locally that’s a qualification criteria

For me a good knowledge of the ward is enough. I'd have no objections to people who lived locally representing me, so long as they were capable and not corrupt. If someone lied about where they lived simply to make themselves more electable they should be struck off straight away.

he’s from Teesside originally isn’t he, and sometimes a fresh pair of eyes is a good thing. Labour has served the area poorly, an independent is a good thing politically.

He's not proving to be a 'good thing', the town has gone further down the pan with him in charge.
