Mr Warnock, a wish list for next season

I will kick off with a goalkeeper worthy of the name. Not one the opposition can identify and target as the weakest link. One who can save shots first and foremost and breed confidence in his defence. One who can organise himself firstly.

Lots of other obvious wishes other posters can contribute.

Bettinelli looks the part so your half way there thinking he is a decent keeper, seems popular and mouthy as well, handling and kicking are decent but shot stopping is woeful......

A midfielder who can create, help dictate play and weigh in with more than a handful of goals . Not an easy task someone who can play alongside Tav.

We'll be lucky to get a team to give a striker 20 shots. Long balls to the corner flag are more likely to lead to an opposition goal
This is true. I know a striker needs service and that is the job of the team.
Even the year we last got promoted I don’t think a player hit double figures.

would be nice to have a good goal scorer

A successor. Someone who can be brought in to work alongside Neil to enable continuity. It can’t be in anyone’s best interests to simply start again after Mr Warnock’s final season.

Of course, that strategy could be awkward if we get promoted next season, but that scenario would need to be built into any relationship or contract.

Someone who can actually take a free kick also!!!! How long is it since you genuinely felt someone lining up behind a freekick might hit the back of the net?

Either a promising lower league keeper or a talented young one from the PL like Henderson who needs the experience.
A midfielder who plays with his head up and has either the physicality or the positional sense to find space and be able to move us up the pitch.
A mercurial midfielder who plays the game like he loves it and looks to take chances going forward. Gaston mk II.

Imt not particularly fussed if we make the playoffs next season as I'm aware the rebuild job is bigger than a lot of people think but for the love of all that is holy can we please get a striker in who knows how to score goals on a consistent basis and actually goes and does it?

Also a goalkeeper who has the talent to back up the shouting.
Bettenelli isn't that goalkeeper.

We've had 4 shots on target in 3 games. That's not totally down to gash forwards.

Call me old fashioned but you need to actually shoot to score🙄

Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink ? Experienced , young , former player , knows the area , charismatic ,fans favourite .Respected around the football world. No contract at Burton so could come in at the end of this season , and be Joint manager . 1.88 PPG with Burton. Our Clough and Taylor .
He would reccomend the best players from L1 and attract players to the club.
He will know from 1st hand if the likes of
Siriki Dembele - free, Dion Charles - free , Charlie Wyke Free , Joe Pigott free , Jerry Yates £2m , Jorge Grant free , Corey Blacket Taylor free, Reece James free can step up. This will save us a fortune in transfer fees and take most of the risk away. Find the gems.
His assistant Dino Maamria also has great experience of the lower leagues (13 years)
Neil would have to agree to this obviously , but as he plans to leave in a year , he will know the club has to plan for the future and can help do it.
Win , Win.

Charlie Austin
Austin want to stay in South of UK means he’ll be likely to join QPR permanent. Two QPR fans thinks that it’s already done when he signed on loan so who knows. For other two players you mentioned but why ex players that you’re obsessed with?

Nobody knows how long he is signed for at Burton. I know Dino as person good guy, but his results at Oldham were poor and he was sacked. So no thanks to them both...

Who said and I cant see Austin saying this anywhere. Two fans said it could be talking rubbish who owns.
