Mr Woodgate, please

If you love this club so much, you certainly say it often enough; then please, do the honourable thing and walk away now.

I didn’t want you as our manager, but Mr Gibson saw fit to throw you under the bus. I was however prepared to give you a chance, unfortunately you have proved incapable of motivating a squad that should not be anywhere near the relegation zone in this league, as Steve Gibson seems intent on dithering around building his castle and doesn’t look likely to pull the trigger.... just resign, before you take us down and lose any goodwill we fans have left for you

I realise it's frowned upon to defend Woodgate....

...but our forwards/forward players ought to shoulder some blame. (I accept the argument that the coaching can't be working). However, it's like they hit this invisible wall in the final third, and become clueless.

Last night off a Leeds free kick just outside our box. Leeds messed up the free kick, and we were really breaking with purpose. (I was actually impressed with Fletcher's speed (despite his slightly odd running style)).) Looked like a 3-on-2 in our favour. I think it was Tav, Fletch and Coulson. Anyway, they hit the invisible wall, and suddenly none of them knew what to do. Fletch passes the ball behind Tav to kill the pace/momentum. Tav then can't find a pass, partly because Fletch and Coulson don't make decent runs.... but also partly because he wants a little dribble. In the end it's a circuitous dribble, which ends up with him tripping over as he gets to the edge of the box. Leeds already back in numbers anyway as we've slowed the break so badly. It really left me thinking "how typical"!

Time and again we'll see other punish mistakes like that. We virtually never seem to punish anyone back... but until the final third, it looked like it was going to lead to a great chance!

I agree, again this must have something to do with coaching and when combined with our poor decision making 90% of our attacks just fail.

midfield needs to be further up the pitch also, get Spence back in at full back and Howson back in MF

He'll be here next season in League One, make no mistake. He ain't gonna walk away from here and Gibson ain't gonna push him. It's clear as day. It's 1986 again and as I said in a previous thread, we don't have a Rioch and we certainly have no Pallisters, Mowbrays or Slavens...

Why do you think he won't push him MV? He's acted ruthlessly before, never more so than these last 3 years.

I just don't. If he survived that car crash that was the Luton game then it's pretty clear he's here for the time being. We are heading to League One; other teams are winning and we're almost comatose in our approach. If it wasn't so damn serious, it would be laughable. He may have acted ruthlessly but it's always too damn late, and you know that he only sacked Monk because of non football reasons. His appointments, his decisions reek of amateurism. It's another 1986 and I don't have the stomach or the inclination to keep on following this lame duck of a football club.
