Anybody who cheats “haven’t really won”. If countries exploit this rule and I can think of a few who will just to win gold medals then the IOC will have a huge problem as much as the war on drug taking.

Since 2016 male prisoners in the UK have been allowed to ask to be transferred to a women’s prison. All they need to do is self-identify as a woman. Legal or medical transition is not required for permission to transfer meaning that legally-male prisoners complete with a penis are currently living alongside women in prison.
 
The obvious answer is open up the sport to doping. Anythings game. You've sorted out your trans problem, you've sorted out your doping problem. Two birds one stone.
 
The problem is the can of worms has been opened! It just feels fundamentally wrong. Maybe its a cost of your life Choice that you cannot compete, it may sound harsh but the alternatives are unfair on those born as women.

I just can’t see where all these gender issues are going to end up - will we get a man built like Mike Tyson demanding to compete against women as he identifies as a woman.

the rather seemingly trivial issue we have is toilets I said years ago do we have to have a different toilet type for all genders or will we just resort to generic cubicles for all different genders trans gender and so on.

the issue is you can’t seem to square the circle without offending one group or the other which ever way you go with all this.

call me old fashioned but make and female has worked well for the longest time perhaps we should stick with that.

That wouldn’t sort out the trans issue. Go the whole hog and you might as well also get rid of the sex split and just let men and women compete together in the same competition to sort out the problem.
 
Believe you me it causing huge debate down here.

Sharon Davies is right. Sport should ensure it remains divided on sex rather than gender. Otherwise women’s sport may have to Start categorising in much the same way as the ParaOlympics do.

that is not allowed no more. You can wear a wig, call yourself Karen, identify as a women, and use the Ladies loo's anytime you want.
Same deal with the convicted rapists is prison. They regularly get beaten up in the nick, and quite rightly. However, identify as a women, and they will get sent to a women's prion. Result, no more beatings and they now pose a threat to every women in that prison.

Women can just dope until they have an advantage over trans.

This is being treated as a moral issue when it should be scientific. If there is scientific proof that trans athletes have an advantage they should not compete with women, if there isn't any scientific proof they should.
 
Have a hobby by all means, but organised competitive sport needs people’s time and effort and it costs money.
If it’s popular it will generate an income and pay for itself , even grow to a profession.
If no one wants to watch and a limited number of people want to be involved it will remain a hobby, and good luck to you.
I can’t see this taking off and I’d be a bit miffed if I was expected to part fund such a spectacle out of my entry fee.

It’s way beyond that. China Russia and the old East Germany have in the past used the Olympics as a means to exert their dominance hence state funded drug programmes. Believe you me anything that will propel them up the medals table will be looked at and exploited.

Yep, I have a daughter who has transitioned, male to female, and is very big in trans issues etc.

It is a difficult one, and has created a lot of talking over here. They would seem to have an unfair advantage, having over 30 years of testosterone in their bodies. However, once they start to take hormone tablets it does reduce their body weight, muscle etc, although to what extent I'm not sure tbh.

My daughter has noticed a significant loss of strength and muscle since she transitioned in 2016, so not always the case, although to be fair she was never one of the more muscly, sporty people around.

I can understand the difficulties that this transgender athlete has gone through.. but to rob a 21 year old fellow female of a place after enjoying so long in the sport does not seem like a cool thing to do.
