I used to think this but now I’m not so sure as Man City and Chelsea aren’t going anywhere. So even with money I can’t see Newcastle breaking the pep Haaland dominance.

Exactly this, I have been saying this for a few years, the PL will end up with a one team competition and it will only have itself to blame and I for one can’t wait. City have blown everyone out of the water and let’s face it Arsenal are only challenging because City let them have Jesus and Zinchenko (sp).
Newcastle will challenge top 4 in a few years but they won’t be able to attract the calibre of player that will lift them in to the next level because money can only get you so much (ask China). The top top players already earn enough without having to go to Newcastle for another payday, they will continue to go to PSG, Madrid, Barcelona and to a lesser extent Munich and City.

Did anyone listen to 606 on 5Live last night. I think there were 3 absolute whoppers on stating Toon are going to win this that and the other. Think they decided between them it would be league within 5 years (iirc) and the champions League in 10 years, nailed on apparently.
Also, one said and ESD extremely serious, that Eddie Howe is the best manager in the premier League.
They beat Brentford at home. Brentford. And Brentford contributed to 4 of the goals in a big way and should maybe have been 1 up other than a typical VAR decision.
I know it's not all of them, but the delusional ones are a hard listen.

Lots of city fans dislike the fact that they are no longer a real football club, they are a fairground attraction, a sideshow. It will be the same for Newcastle.

Our sport has not been ruined by Saudi Arabia taking control at Newcastle.
It was ruined long before when Abramovich, the Glazers, Liverpool's owners (I forget the name of previous & current) etc started putting their money into clubs and all the TV deals around the world Sky sold their souls to.
I'm sure any reasonable Geordie would rather not have their club owned by any country let alone Saudi Arabia. How many times have you heard the response that the British govt buys oil from SA and sells weapons back to them?
