NFL Divisional Playoffs

Another crazy ending — chiefs in OT— I would never have thought it would have come to such a incredible ending. I feel for the Bills as I and just about the whole planet thought they had it won. Hard to believe that Mahones somehow conjured up two plays in less than 13 seconds to get them into field goal range to tie the game. Allen looked as sick as a parrot.
Bills defence wasn’t great. 13 seconds to hold out and ensure that they weren’t in field goal range. Allen prob had the game of the decade. Going to haunt me like the UEFA final

4 man rush instead of 3 was a major error. They should have dropped back and forced Mahomes to run and use up the 10 seconds of clock which he utilized for passing on his last 2 plays in regulation

What two magnificent games yesterday. Hard luck Buccs and Bills. End of Brady's career?

Saturdays games for the purists. Sundays slightly more fun!

I think one more year . His stats this year were incredible full stop . As a 44 year old who has been in the league now vs some guys who weren’t even born … mind blowing . Ben R will retire , can’t see Rodgers staying at the Packers . Next gen coming through - but think he’s good for one final hurrah

Isn’t Brady older than 3 of this years Head Coaches in the divisional round …. Sure he is something like 9 years older than the Rams HC McVay

I’ve never understood
That. Should be at least one play for each team
The only time that happens is if the receiving team in overtime scores a touchdown in its first possession. The team that kicks off gets a possession if the receiving team doesn't score or only scores a field goal.

It's just to limit the time it takes.

It's an improvement on the old rules where it was just 1st to score a point so a team only had to get beyond the halfway line for a kick. Then they changed it to the other team gets a chance to possess the ball if there is a field goal but a TD can end the game as if it was sudden death. If you don't have sudden death at some point then a match could last forever. They could just go back and forth trading TDs indefinitely. They had already had 3 hours, not sure what an extra possession for Bills before Mahomes got the chance to do it again would have changed. Neither defense was slowing down either offense.

Like most sports, the decider isn't perfect but they have to decide somehow.

I think they should play 10 mins of OT and if they are still tied after OT they should do a field goal shootout from 50 yards. Both teams get 5 attempts and most scored wins. A bit like football's pen shootout.

It would be fairer than this toss of a coin nonsense and first TD wins.

You're right that the game has to end eventually but you knew that whoever won last nights coin toss was going to win the match.

Theres got to be a better way to decide it, with a league thats always evolving its rules I think its only a matter of time before they improve this overtime rule.

There's definitely ways of improving it if the league are creative.

Just watched the Chiefs/Bills game.

Absolutely unbelievable. The level of play by both QB's was completely insane.

That will take some getting over for the Bills fans but they put up an incredible performance and would have won against anybody apart from Mahomes.

Sport of the highest quality.

Or you could have one them things you get at the fairground, a wall with holes cut out. This could then be hung from the stadium and the QB's have 5 throws to get it through holes, with more points scored if they get it through the smaller holes, a bit like this but with sponsors on it obviously (otherwise it just be ridiculous).

The losing QB could then get a teddy as a consolation.

Yeah, I'd love to see some of the O-Line trying to knock one over from 50.
