Nick Cave in Stockton

I was there last night and it was outstanding. The whole night was superb and it was amazing to see The Globe sold out and rocking. Nick was just incredible and I loved his banter with the crowd. I will remember it for a long time. His final encore of 'Ghosteen Speaks' left me with a lump in my throat.

Top night and no hitches. Staff excellent as was parking.

Glad it was a good show. Toyed with the idea of going but had already bought tickets for Tom Robinson at the Georgian on same night. So if I had paid the initial £60 there was the extra coast of £22 for T.R that I had paid to add to that. Plus I was going with some friends and didn't want to bail out on them. If it had been full band I would have crawled there but like DCI I prefer his earlier uptempo stuff. Still great for the town and the venue. I will keep an eye on the ticket pricing for The Waterboys as well.

On a side note Tom Robinson was excellent as well as was the support Lee Forsyth-Griffiths who also plays in Toms band. Georgian was not sold out but a really good crowd about similar to attendance for The Futureheads. Great that we can get good crowds at two venues close by on same night.

Next up for me The Lounge Society at The Westgarth, Coach Party at The Georgian, Twisterella, then off to Glasgow for Francis of Delerium.

Saw that Coach Party and FoD are playing at Omeara in London, but feel somehow sickly at giving someone from Mumford and Sons money to see someone there. I wasn't too impressed by the sound last time I was there either. I might just do the FoD gig in a Hoxton coffee shop. It's starting to develop a reputation as an interesting venue.
Glad TR was a good show.
And I've had "Carnage" playing all morning. It was better live.

I was at the Georgian as well. Good selection of songs. First time I've seen him for 42 years. Didn't realise he was that old either.
