Nicola Bulley still missing

The police believe she's fallen into the river.
It's the most likely scenario. How long is the river in the question? Does it flow out to sea readily or join another larger river? Could be weeks before a body (if there is one may I add) is found.

Netflix true crime documentary’s have people thinking they are a detective, it’s sickening to read some of the stuff posted online about him at the worst moment he will ever experience. Don’t think some of these people realise this is actually real life and family members/friends will be reading this.

Not sure there is a particular way to act at a time like this but the poor lad looked in complete shock, sticking him in front of a camera was cruel

Absolutely. And even in the scenario that he DOES turn out to be guilty somehow, these people have no justification or evidence for accusing him at this point, based on nothing but their own opinions and their amateur attempts to read body language - yet they'll crow that they "knew all along".

If she fell in the river why was her phone on the bench.
Possible scenario

call/teams meeting was coming to an end the usual boring small talk.
She put the phone on speaker, and placed it beside her.
Perhaps she threw a ball or the dog was distracted and about to go into the water.
Knowing she was about to leave, and didn't want a wet dog in the car, she walked over to the dog to attach the harness.
As others have said, she was wearing essentially a sleeping bag.
As she has knelt down to attach the harness she's lost her balance and fallen into icy cold water
The shock has set in, and her clothes have weighed her down, pulling her to the bottom.

I can only think she’s fallen into the river. It’s a steep bank and very deep water with under currents. The area is so muddy that you’d struggle to see much in the way of footprints. The dog could have went in after her or vice versa, it wouldn’t take long for her to dry off being short haired. Apparently the river was in spate around that time too, so it could have easily carried her way downstream now. Such a sad situation, but I can’t see a positive outcome now unfortunately 😪

I agree.
I think she seen the dog go near the waters edge and so she put her phone down, (not wanting it to get wet in case she had to go in the water for the dog) and somehow lost her balance on the river bank that was relatively steep from the bench to the waters edge (she also could’ve tripped and hit her head before rolling into the water) a steep drop into the water, if she lost her balance trying to coax the dog back…sounds totally plausible to me….and having a long gillett on is like a sleeping bag (!) and would’ve been incredibly heavy once wet, probably causing her to panic in the water (as well as the 🥶 cold water) can you imagine ? I’m a strong swimmer and I get the shivers just thinking about that happening to me!
Seems to me like she stood little chance of surviving that….

Now after seeing the scene of the woman's disappearance (on TV) I now also think she has fell in to the river.

I was of the belief at the time that if she had fell in then the dog would have followed her body from the bank but now, that would be impossible as there is a gate and fence barrier which would have stopped the dog doing that.....in fact when the dog was found it was running between the bench and the gate.....which indicates to me it was trying to get round the fence and through the gate and follow her

So very sad and I hope I am wrong and that she is found alive.

It's an obvious statement that the police will have considerably more information that has been released into the public domain, but based on what they have released it's overwhelming likely she he's gone into the river, even just on a statistical basis.

And once you're in such a cold body of water even the strongest swimmers would most likely perish - the body protects its core and the vital organs, which means the limbs become very difficult to move.

Twitter videos of this interview have got all the Mumsnet armchair detectives out in force. Apparently he obviously did it, whatever it is, and the police should waste no time in arresting and jailing him based on the concrete evidence of "he looks a bit shifty" and "he didn't seem sad enough".
This thread sounds like a replica of the mumsnet and twitter ones.

Maybe the police should release all the evidence they have, then let the general public work out what happened.

There is no flow in the river at the moment, not sure what it was like last week. If there's no current, the body would not have travelled far. Hopefully, she is still alive.🤞

The sister of a missing mother who disappeared on a dog walk is urging members of the public to "keep an open mind" and continue the search.
Nicola Bulley, 45, was last seen next to the River Wyre in St Michael's on Wyre, Lancashire a week ago.
Lancashire Police said on Friday officers believed she had fallen into the river.
But Ms Bulley's sister, Louise Cunningham, said there was "no evidence whatsoever" of that.
In a post on Facebook, she said: "Please keep sharing my Nikki", adding that a river fall was "just a theory".
She added: "Everyone needs to keep an open mind as not all CCTV and leads have been investigated fully, the police confirmed the case is far from over."
A major search has been continuing, including police divers, drones, a helicopter and search and rescue teams but no trace of her has been found.
Police said their "working hypothesis is that she has fallen into the river for some reason".
They said there was "no evidence" of anything suspicious.

Nicola Bulley's friend Emma White: "We've still got a missing piece of the jigsaw"
Supt Sally Riley said: "There is absolutely nothing to suggest from all the extensive enquiries we have made that anything untoward has happened to [Ms Bulley] or that there is any third-party involvement in her disappearance."
She said it remained a missing person inquiry.
Ms Bulley was last seen walking her dog Willow near the River Wyre after dropping off her children, aged six and nine, at school on the morning of 27 January.
The spaniel was found about 25 minutes after Ms Bulley was last seen by another dog walker at about 09:10 GMT.
Her phone was also found on a riverside bench - still connected to a work call.
One of Ms Bulley's friends, Emma White, who has been helping in the search, said she believed "we're actually no further on than sadly last Friday".
"We still have no evidence and that's why we're out again in force.
"You don't base life on a hypothesis, do you? You absolutely can have hypotheses but then you need something to back that hypothesis up to become factual."
Map showing the last sightings of Nicola Bulley in St Michael's on Wyre showing she was seen on a river side path at 08.43, in a field at 08:47, another field at 9:10 and that her phone was near a river side bench at 09:20

Detectives said they were "as confident as we can be that Nicola has not left the field where she was last seen and our working hypothesis is that she has fallen into the river for some reason".
"Our investigation remains open and we will of course act on any new information which comes to light."
Ms Bulley's partner Paul Ansell said he would "never lose hope" of finding her.
Police have urged locals to look out along the river for clothing that Ms Bulley was last seen wearing.
This includes an ankle-length black quilted gilet jacket, a black Engelbert Strauss waist-length coat, black jeans, green walking socks, ankle-length green Next wellies, a necklace and a pale blue Fitbit.
