Should we dump the dinosaur and go for Nuno?

  • Yes, get him in

  • No, give warnock until the end of the season and see who is available then

Should we go for him as our new manager? Warnocks gone in 6 months anyway and hardly pulled up any trees.

Case for:
- Nuno had almost a 50% win rate Wolves, and in fact throughout his managerial career, even his spurs failure had a 47% win rate.
- Has good contacts in europe
- plays a good pragmatic style of football
- with his contacts at wolves and spurs might be able to get a couple of good loans in, promotion and he might even persuade Adama to come home :D
- no nonsense style of management, high standards expected
- Won't be available for very long
- If we wait until the summer and Gibson continues with his policy of not signing managers already contracted then realistically we will struggle to get the right progressive manager

Vacancy at Newcastle,
Possibly one in Norwich

Any manager with Prem experience won’t consider the Chimp ship, let alone us until a swift return to the Prem us ruled out

The vote is not the only choice Gibson has.
Other managers are available right now too and may be gone by summer.
I would be drawn to Lampard for example.

I think Gibson will have his manager lined up long before the end of this season. Or at least I hope so.

Although I'm in favour of letting NW see out the season, an appointment like this would demonstrate our ambition for the future.

The big question is would be dovetail with Scott's plans?

exactly, we presume there is a plan...

Getting "Nuno in" (assuming it was possible) would throw that plan away. Let's get through this season and start a proper plan...

Again, assuming there is a plan

We need to strike the balance between acting too early before Scott has really had a chance to assess where we are and what we need. As I see it, this last Warnock season is a buffer to allow Scott to get his feet under the table and make his plans for next season. All this talk of a promotion challenge this year is just wishful thinking.

He is a Portuguese Pulis - Hard to beat first and foremost.

He will never be suitable for a team aiming for europe, titles etc but would be a safe bet for a mid table team for a couple of seasons until the solid league positions are not enough and better performances are demanded.

Why settle for their sloppy seconds when we could nip in and steal Conte?

believe in yourself, whats the wrst that can happen other than high embarrassment and a restraining order :ROFLMAO:

Seriously though, when he joined wolves they were a lower ranked and funded club than us, just 4 years ago
The summer he joined, Wolves signed Ruben Neves, Wily Boly and Diego Jota amongst about 20 other players. He was funded massively.

in wages/loan fees, mainly. Didn't they do deals for them to allow them to get top quality players but pay big fees after promotion. Not saying he wasn't funded, he was, but it was a lot of underhand dealings. Anyway, We spent a hell of a lot more that summer about 50mill

He wouldn't interest me, most managers would have done well with the imported Portugal squad.

Wolves were ***** last season and Tottenham have been even worse this season.
Definitely agree — as soon as Nunes lost his key players ie Jota I just thought he didn’t know what to do. Granted he took Wolves up with a good record but I also didn’t think he developed any players. Perhaps he’s a decent Championship manager but as we’ve just at Spurs he’s devoid of any leadership skills and his teams will operate on a recycle the ball policy before hoofing it.
