I was at that game. Travelled up on the old United bus which was packed with Boro supporters. I went with a mate and his Dad (RIP) .We were in Newcastle and the younger lads on the bus were singing at the Geordies out on the street. It was quite funny until the driver said " this is where you get out". There must have been 200 mad geordies banging on the bus. We were really worried until a Police escort turned up then we were all hard again telling them how we were going to knack em
We were in ecstasy in the ground as we played so well. I noticed a few geordies climbing the fence every so often until there were about 20 of them near us. I thought we would move until my mates Dad who I always thought was very placid walked down the terrace and stood next to them. Every time they clapped and shouted united he shouted sh***e. Me and my mate were asking him to come back but he wouldn't. He stayed there until the police chucked them out.
Police escort back to the bus station and a very happy journey home.
