One-off Boro appearances/goals you've seen in person

I was there at Watford for Dwight Tiendalli's only (I think) game for us. 2014-15.

Tiendalli made 2 Boro appearances - a whopping great career compared to some others mentioned on this thread - although he was subbed after an hour on both occasions. Another baffling loan signing.

Justin Hoyte's one and only goal? Outside of the right boot, arrowed into the top corner. It was a peach. He should have retired there and then.

World Cup winner Ricardinho's one appearance for the Boro first team. As an unused substitute at Stamford Bridge.

Maxi Hass at Hull, looking at his wiki page he only made another 10 games after he left
I was at that game. Scott Mcdonald hat trick if I remember rightly. There is no way Maxi Haas was a professional footballer. Once of those rare occasions where you watch a player and think to yourself (I think I'm actually better than him).

I was there to witness Caleb Folan, pretty much summed up that era of following Boro!

John Johnson's one and only appearance as a sub when we got smashed 5-0 by Chelsea, before moving onto India.
I'm sure I saw John Johnson play at Fratton Park and he hit the bar? We had a really young team out and got beat?

Edit -Just had a look on 11v11 and it looks like a guy called Ian Johnson. Lost 2-0 in 93.

Was at Fulham away when we played the academy + Colin Cooper, just before the UEFA Cup final. What a great day out, haven’t double-checked the squad but must have been a few entire Boro careers in there.

Also not quite on topic but was there the day Carlos Marinelli turned into Diego Maradona, a true one off. Single-handedly took Derby apart in the 5-1, unplayable, capped off with a stunning 30 yard free kick consolation goal in injury time from an obscure Derby journeyman named Fabrizio Ravanelli.

Steve Corden - played his one and only game in a defeat at Plough Lane Wimbledon. Warm sunny day in August 1985 - first game of the season. Having survived the previous season by the skin of our teeth at Shrewsbury Willie Maddren started with Corden in midfield ( son of Richard Corden former director of Boro and Darlo). Midway through the first half he sustained a serious broken leg injury and sadly was ruled out not just for the season but he was never to play for us again.

We went on to lose 3-0 - it should have been a lot more ( I just remember how bad we were) - and this was a precursor to a terrible relegation ending season.

Jay O'Shea coming off the bench against god knows who.
I had to look this up as O'Shea currently plays in the A-League for Brisbane. And yes I see he made two appearances for Strachan's team late in the 2009-10 season. He made his debut as sub coming on in a mundane 1-1 home draw against Palace and then started the next game at Plymouth in a rare away win under Strachan.

This is one of the more surreal ones -one time captain and Barcelona legend José Mari Bakero at bootham crescent in a pre- season friendly v york.

we were sat in front of his wife and family and it just seemed surreal that here was this iconic figure of Spanish football in a Boro shirt at york.
