Just self excluded myself from all gambling sites.

Started as sports betting and accumulators on saturday then discovered onlines slots. This stuck inside boredom made the problem worse and when I looked at my online bank account it was all deposits to gambling sites. Lost loads and no more!

ffs. Of anyone else is in the same boat get out now. Good luck

Well done for jacking it in . Its a pretty quick way to lose a lot of money.

Yes, extremely well done. It's an addiction and a disease, gambling.

If I ever really added up how much I'd lost over the years to it'd frighten me, I'm sure.

My best way of avoiding gambling these days is to think of it as a scrap between me and another bloke. The other bloke is the casino/bookie/slot machine and I've got both my hands tied behind my back.

How many of us would go into a fight on those terms?

I don’t mind sharing that I was player poker and using spins, there is an element of skill but there’s a lot of luck involved in this one

I using the credit card to deposit money. It’s starts off with $0.25 spins through to $250. You get a mutplier on what you play for. I was 800 quid down

Decided to play 250 spin o try claw it back, it was x5 and so won around 950 quid, I paid the 800 back on lost the 150. This was over Xmas

I was done. But then I went back and played again in February. Again I was getting to 400 losses and playing the big spins, won another 950 again and then managed to get it up 1600. I then lost the majority of that, everytime I lost I’d level up until I got to $250 spins

I came clean to the wife to give accountability. Luckily for me I haven’t lost any money, but it was close and I can see how easy it was

I was 800 down in December to myself to stop before it got worse then 2 days later I was depositing 200, I dread to think where I would be if I lost that one rather than won.

It’s horrible and hope I don’t get dragged in again

I am impressed at your honesty.

Our nephew on my wife's side has had problems with this sort of addiction. It is so sad.

I hope you can get on top of it.

The thing is you look at the percentage of return to player and think it must be due a winner soon. Problem is no one has an unlimited amount of money to chase. I just hope someone else reads this thread and thinks yeah ill stay away from that thanks!

Hey lost very brave of you to do that.

I could go on forever with my trials and tribulations with gambling. I’m still paying off £30,000 loan to get me out of my last mess and I have blown a lot more than that. I used to be a monitored customers in all betting shops. I have also been to GA.

Anytime you need some advice drop me a msg. I’m not shining example but I know what it’s like... probably way more than you got too as you have tried to stop way earlier

Well done you. Online gambling companies are adept at luring people in. I like a bet but i am very strict on my terms. They love to pretend they are on your side, in reality they are charletans wanting you to risk your money with specials bets and offers.
I have been banned from 2 online companies for wins over £1.2k. TBF to sky i won £6.9k and not an issue, that said many losing bets and despite winnings stated i would bet i have probably lost more over a lifetime than won. Only bet what you are willing to lose, as a bit of entertainment. If you get lucky, do not take chances. DO NOT CHASE LOSSES, EVER.

I’ve always liked a bet on the footy on a Saturday, but over the last few years I’ve found myself betting on a game if it’s on TV just to keep a bit of interest. I’d normally stick £10 or £20 on over 2.5 goals or sometching like that, and could easily lose £50 over a weekend. I could also easily make £100 too though. Swings and roundabouts, and I’m sure I’d probably be down overall, but I haven’t missed it at all and think I’ll have a very different view on gambling after all this. Am sure I’ll still have the odd flutter (cheltenham, golf majors etc) I don’t think I’d bet on football like I have in the past.

The worse part about it was trying to think about how I was going to pay 800 off my credit card without my wife finding out, as we share both the bills and spend account
Am sure betting sites have been banned from accepting payment using credit cards now which is a massive step in the right direction.

I hate these bingo ads on tv a lot celebrity endorsed. Should be banned in my opinion they are getting a whole new demographic hooked on gambling

I love online gambling and have made a lot of money out of slots, but even I dont understand why we limit FOBT to £2 a spin but let online stakes do thousands, and most slots top out at £250 a spin, who needs to be doing £250 spins? its very easy to accidentally do as well when adjusting your stake as sometimes the bet amount is shown on the bottom line and as you adjust the lines/stake per line it can ramp up quickly! Gambling isn't for everyone, some people just aren't wired that way. If you ever feel the urge to chase losses or feel bad after losing money, just self exclude yourself. Not worth going down that hole.

yes they have, mad they even accepted them in the first place really.

I would definetly hammer down on online gambling in this country, it should be £2 max on all platforms. There is only ever one winner. I stick to my £2 coupon every Saturday

I usually put a £1 accumulator on on a weekend covering a few leagues. Any winnings are always withdrawn.

Plastered all over football shirts and thence on television.
It legitimises taking high risk and an open gateway to people who are in debt or isolated and believe a little flutter wont hurt.
Gamblers Anonymous and the numbers who present in A&E having attempted to harm or kill themselves proves otherwise.
Once it starts people believe they can gamble back what they have lost....then the slippery slope gets steeper.....
