Only a fool breaks the 2 second rule

Had brake checking done to me a few times on motorways. Someone has tailgated me and I've slower down because they're almost bumber to bumper and it's been really dangerous. Then they 'undertake', pull in front and slam the brakes on. Idiots.
Usually a BMW or Range Rover driver ;)
Hasn't happened since I've got the dash cam. Soon as it does the clip is going straight to the police

Brake checking -Highly illegal, up to 2 years in prison for dangerous driving, and an unlimited fine - if a death results,14 years prison ( and unlimited fine).

Tailgaters are idiots, and so are brakecheckers - keep calm, just pull over at an appropriate opportunity and let the brain dead crack on.
Plenty of dash cam footage online showing the terrible results of brake checking once too often.
The judge in this case didn't seem too enamoured with the lads 'brake checking'.

Slowing down is as good as brake checking. Basically something to make it clear the illegal tailgating won’t be tolerated.

Only 3 years for killing a mother.
Years ago I did a speed awareness course given through work and it was run by a traffic cop.
His opinion was that a vehicle should be seen as a dangerous weapon and that sentances should be handed out as if they were manslaughter or murder cases if there was intent. I don't disagree.

I disagree, those drivers have to be efficient as possible so that means they need to overtake even if the vehicle in front is slightly slower
Their time isn't worth 60x who they hold up, and products delayed by 1 minute will make zero difference, especially at the cost of delays to 60 other people or whatever it works out as.

But like I said, the wagon being caught up could just lift off for like 10 seconds, then it would also be totally fine.

Seems like everyone on here is a perfect driver and it’s every other idiot who isn’t.
To be fair I would think most are better than average, looking at the comments, as at least they are aware of what's going on, and how that plays out overall.

Not had anyone piping up saying they tailgate people, undertake, or want to drive at 100mph etc.

They're probably reading the paper while on cruise control
Probably, or jacking off.

I bet most don't even look at outside lane, when just popping along at 55.9mph, when some other doyle is trying to overtake at 56mph. Probably just looking at the 1 mile of clear road in front of them.

Hard to tell how near or far they are in mirrors mind, to gauge how much they're not gaining on them, but as soon as they're seen they should give way. I've they've got to that position, they're clearly "faster", just let them go, and stop the pair holding up everyone else who can go 14mph quicker legally.

I’m not sure they are ‘holding people up’ if they should be considerate about you shouldn’t you be considerate about them. If they lose time behind another lorry it could effect their pay. Could mean less food on the table. It could mean choosing between heating or feeding.
But that doesn’t matter because you’ve been held up a minute or 2
