Our fans

Does anyone else feel a sense of pride when the camera goes to our loyal fans and no matter where we are playing we are well travelled and can always here us singing, well done everyone 👍👍
I do. Always good to see our following. Love it even more when I'm in it like today. It was superb.

Like S7 said, look at the away support at the riverside to compare, would huddersfield bring that many up here on a normal Saturday. I don’t think so even though I can remember them brining about 5,000 one time but that was the FA cup and Middlesbrough were a premier league club so a potential upset

Our away support has been excellent lately.

Right up there in numbers and it's arguably the best in the Championship given the distances they have to travel compared to every team but Bournemouth.

Chris Wilder loved first experience of 'special' Middlesbrough away day and rewarding fans

Fans roared their appreciation and support in brilliant full-time scenes at Huddersfield

Chris Wilder's first win at Boro was always going to be memorable, but it was made even more special for the boss by the brilliant fans who made the trip to Huddersfield.

Wilder admits to having a soft spot for away games and you can't blame him when you see the scenes at full-time at the John Smith's Stadium, Boro's sell-out following roaring their appreciation as Wilder approached the away end.

Boro's travelling fans braved freezing weather and treacherous conditions to get to Huddersfield and were rewarded with a superb display and three points.

“I like away games, especially when you win," said Wilder afterwards.

“Sometimes they're a little bit more special. I’m not being disrespectful but when you are together as well, which we have been, it’s good to reward them.

“They travelled down in numbers and it's not been the best of days. I suppose when they looked out the window this morning, maybe there might have been a little bit of doubt in terms of coming but maybe not as well, because that’s what they are about.

“Even when we walked through at quarter past one, there were punters stood in the cold cheering us into the changing room wishing us all the best so that is priceless that we have that connection and we don’t underestimate that."

Wilder cherishes that connection and togetherness on and off the pitch, and the spirit he's found in the Boro dressing room delights him.

"We've talked about it, the attitude of the group is spot on," he said.

"Sometimes when you go into a club it's not just the results, it's the personalities, the atmosphere, the environment is not together, but this is definitely a together group which makes it a lot easier for us."

The away support has been amazing. I'm not sure if it's post covid 'we can go' or what?.

You look at the away followings at the Riverside and you see how well we are supported.
Exactly my point some away fans that come to us could come in a mini bus but no matter if we are on tge south coast we are guaranteed 700+ fans and every manager that comes in always say how well supported the club is and that's probably because when we have played against them and have seen our following 👍

Absolutely amazing i love stories like this and how football brings everyone together. Well done everyone involved and good luck little Maisie 👍🙏 ❤️
Its great to get the real picture of the thousands who follow us everywhere with no bother and in good heart. Too often we get overblown nonsense and smears in the "media". The generousity of our fans is sometimes overlooked: - Foodbank donations, supporting the MFC Foundation, helping raise funds at MDSA events, work in the community and all the organised fan groups, collections for charities - a good example being the Jordan Sinnot Foundation - who published a big "Thank You" on twitter for the money donated by Boro and HTFC fans yesterday. Brilliant statement and i totally agree, look at what Billy Sharp said about us after his Baby sadly passed away and his first game back was at home against us (Doncaster) and our away fans started shouting his name and he said it will stay with him forever (even though he didn't sign for us 🙄) and look how we supported Leo and in return made him return back here.
