Palace sack Viera

Palace were very fortunate to go up when they did and have done really well to stay up.
Relegation will be extremely challenging for them. I can see them being down for a very very long time if they do drop.
7 London clubs in the top flight is extremely unhealthy.

I agree with all of that.

On the other hand, they're the type of club I would want to be in the PL if we go up.

Clubs of their size, and ours to be fair, can get promoted, do well for a few years, but sooner or later a downward spiral kicks in, and very few last up to 10 years. I'd like to see the likes of Everton and West Ham go, as their relegation would be a rare thing.

It would also mean a fair few clubs; Palace, Wolves, Leicester, Saints would stay up and be ripening nicely for relegation.

Carrick won't be going anywhere, it's good he has been linked with premiership clubs, it means he's doing a great job with us and long may it continue.

They’ll be looking abroad I reckon, maybe the fella who was a bit unfortunate to be sacked by Southampton in the Autumn? What are the bookies quoting on Le Tissier?!😂

Saint Carrick of Teesside will inevitably be linked to every job...I'm cool with that hes doing wonders here and he ain't going anywhere soon.
If we don't go up and he gets a big premiership offer that will be a big decision but he strikes me as a proper bloke ...I thibk he's here for at least this season and next

I for one don't object if MC eventually leaves for another club.

His reign will come to an end at some point, we can all agree on that.

Would we not prefer this to be through his leaving to advance his career rather than being sacked? This would mean he'd had ongoing success.

"eventually" is, or course the key word. However, we constantly had "he might leave!" threads during the rise under KAranka, and I don't believe a single PL club ever even inquired. It would take a lot more than 6 months good performance to make any of them interested.

4 goals in nearly four months is what did it not the no wins in 11. All the pundits were singing his praises last season but these exalted former players have a lot to learn before dipping into the EPL.

When teams struggle to score goals, you rightly have to worry. Palace have relied on Zaha for a large number of goals in the past few seasons, but he has been out injured a lot this year, and his contract is up in the summer. Unless Palace get a decent striker in the summer (assuming they stay up), they will likely struggle again next season.
I know they have been bad, but I thought they might have given Viera a bit longer (e.g. play against some of the weaker teams), but the directors have obviously lost faith in him.
I wonder whether Jesse March will be interested in a short term job.

It’s 4 goals in 2 and a half months to be fair. Or 6 goals in less than 3 months. The 6 weeks before that there was a World Cup on.
