Paul Mullin sign him on

A world of difference scoring goals in non league and scoring them where we hope to be next season isn't there? I'm not sure he'd be the sort of player we'll be looking at.

I've seen top Premier league players look bang average on those drills.
Mullin made Jimmy Bullard look like an over the hill, soon to be pied off, Hull City reject !

I wouldn’t sign him, but he's also not really a non-league striker.

He's spent the majority of his career playing in League Two, and would have played in League One with Cambridge when they were promoted, if he hadn't dropped down to Wrexham for the money instead.

If you wanted to sign anyone who played in non-League football last season, surely it would be Macaulay Langstaff? He scored 42 league goals, all from open play. Mullin had 38, including 11 penalties.

And, as the playoff finally showed, Langstaff can take a pretty mean penalty as well.

Mullin was Cambridge United`s top scorer and Wrexham payed him a lot of pennies to step down to League V.
His scoring includes a large number of penalties.

On the other hand.

League Top Scorer and National League Player of The Season, Macaulay Langstaff cost £50K from Gateshead.
The only penalty he has taken all season was in the Play-Off Final at Wembley on Saturday - after extra time.
Every goal he has scored is from open play.
In 45 appearances [this season] he has scored 42 goals for Notts.
He`s 26.

Here`s his record this season:

* Five Notts players were named in the National League`s Team of the Season.......but the Magpies' record-breaking striker scooped the top award and was voted the National League's 2022-23 Player of the Season.

This serves as yet more recognition for the prolific striker, who has already scooped several trophies and records this season after scoring 42 goals - all in the National League and from open play. Here is a look at the records broken by Notts' number nine this campaign.

  • National League Player of the Season
  • National League Top Scorer
  • Notts County Fans' Player of the Season
  • Notts County Players' Player of the Season
  • National League Player of the Month (3)
  • Record set for most goals in a Notts County Season
  • Record set for most goals in a National League Season
  • Record set for most goals in a fifth tier season since rebranding in 2015
  • Record set for most Player of the Month awards in a National League Season
Theres only one National League player worth his salt and its not Paul Mullin
