Payero medical at Boca Juniors tomorrow

Good luck lad. Don’t think the English game was for him sadly. He even himself admitted the nature of the championship playing game after game is a bit a much for him and he’s not used to it. Seems like home is where he’s most comfortable, hope we get a decent replacement in as we need someone in to compete with Crooks.

Bit gutted about this to be honest. Was hoping the chat the other day proved to be wide of the mark and he’d be part of the squad this season. That said, if he ain’t good enough for Wilder then so be it. I’ve faith in Wilder to get this call right.

It’s probably a mixture of him not settling, injuries stopping him getting a run, and him missing home and Argentinian football. Always the risk when you sign someone from a different continent but I wish him well anyway. Seemed a nice lad and showed flashes of ability. Will follow the rest of his career closely

Hope it works for him there, it's a shame he struggled so much here, I wish he had been a success but luck wasn't on his side.

Aaron Mooy hopefully 👍🏻

An altogether very strange episode. Has just left me puzzled at the way in which the recruitment was done and the way in which Payero was handled by the club, coaching staff and managers. Good luck to the lad, knowing our luck he'll be scoring the winner in the next Copa America and we'll all be wondering how and why we couldn't get him playing for us...

For the best that he goes, but it's a shame it hasn't worked out. Just hope we haven't wasted too much money on him.
It's a real shame, shown flashes of quality but I just think the intensity of the championship in terms of physicality and the number 9f games can be very hard for players to adapt too.

And Wilder doesn't like foreigners (not in a racist/xenophobic way). He prefers people who are experienced in English football.

Raises a lot of questions about who pushed for the transfer in the first place.

Gutted about this, I really wanted him to succeed here, injures did him no favours, he had a run of three or four games under Warnock and was looking good, then got injured again.

Never looked particularly comfortable with the rest of the squad either though during warm ups and stuff… just don’t think he settled well unfortunately.

Good luck to him, hope he has a great career 👍🏻

Different type of player but Marinelli also only showed flashes of brilliance whilst wearing the boro shirt, Arca was more suited but he had already had a long spell on Wearside prior to coming to Teesside

Always gave his all but he was also crippled for most of his stay and moved slower than my Grandma, as soon as the opposition realised every time he got the ball he wood stand on it and drag it back he became so easy to tackle and constantly lost possession.
