Gibbo in 1986
the Football League showed a lack of support and Gibson claimed they wanted to “crucify a football club, and this small club in the north-east was the one they picked on.”
He’s telling a story of a different era, 37 years ago, and yes, to the money men of the football league at that time we were small fry. But historically we’re not we’re about 16th-20th biggest, well above average top 20-percentile.

I’ll repeat my question from earlier. If we are small how would you describe Oxford, Swindon, Plymouth, Leyton Orient, Crewe, Gillingham and about another 50 clubs like them?

Varying degrees of smaller. I suppose the point I'm making is that our use of comparative adjectives like 'smaller' is, by definition, relative and context-dependent. When Gibbbo was quoted the comparator for the FA was the entire English game - we were 'small', unimportant, and disposable. Don't get me started on 'massive' clubs, games etc.

Your being a bit over sensitive.I wouldn't take one persons opinion as we all entitled to have and handle it so bad get some life experience behind you then you will realise comments like this really won't bother you.
One persons ridiculously stupid opinion* fixed it for you sweetie.

As for life experience, I have had plenty. Don’t be patronising
