People not from the Teesside area, and without a Teesside family connection, following the Boro

I found myself at AP with a lad I went to school with. He was living with his grandparents to do his GSCE'S as his dad was in the Army and we both travelled from Shildon on the X14 bus when we were about 15 I think. Not sure about Matty's connect to the Boro though but I have no connection to the area.

I know a lad from Northern Ireland who posts on here from time to time who has no connection either to Boro. Think he said he picked Boro out of the paper or something like that. And I know a Dutch lad, although not seen him in years, who had a season ticket when he lived down here in Manchester. His favourite player a s akid was Brian Robson and so started following Boro becuase of him.
Isn't the Irish lad DazUlster or something similar?

I got a mate into supporting Boro at Uni. He is from the West Country, hearing him sing the songs was funny. Still hear from him talking about Boro. We meet up a for a few games a season, if we can get hold of tickets.

There were a few west country lads in front of us at Bristol city a few years back .
Could have been Rivers fans though.

The on the train lad from Manchester I mentioned last night was from the Boro originally, he still had a bit of Teesside accent.

Any where I go I meet Boro fans, not lots but amazingly loyal to the football club.

......................They all want tickets for the Play Of Final.

Like to think I once scored in this category, but don't anymore.

Raised in Norn Iron in the seventies. It was fashionable, pretty much necessary to have a GB club in the playground. Didn't fancy Rangers, who were the local default choice, was a keeper myself, loved Jim Platt, choice made. Followed "you" religiously. Promotion in 74, what a triumph.

In one of those fortunate coincidences (might not have been for them as it was quite an upheaval but it worked for me) dad's work took him to Teesside. So I could follow "us" throughout my teen years. And, as my work has taken me away, and back, periodically, since. #UTB

Strangely enough the “out of towner” that I can think who supports Boro is also from Wingate (well Station Town actually). Although I believe Wingate and Station Town has a TS postcode.

Bob has lived in Billog for approx 40 years, welder, aged 60. Proper character, funny as. Loves a game of pool for 50p a man.

Know a devout Boro fan who lives in Hawaii, friend of a friend. Smashed his Diner up when Ayala’s goal got disallowed at Birmingham away (Karanka promotion season) works on a trawler now.

Yes, I'm the 'knobhead' from NI 😂

Started supporting Boro because of Juninho and Ravanelli. Stuck with them ever since. Best decision I have made!

Wear the Boro shirt a lot over here and always get funny looks!

Try to get over to a few games every season and actually coming along next Saturday for the QPR game.
