Peter the Great!

My very dear friend and ally Peter Hodgson (pseudonym Bill Stroller) passed away on Friday night. While still a teenager he decided he didn't like to drink alcohol and I believe he, therefore, never destroyed the little grey cells in his incredibly active brain as occurs with us mere mortals. A formidable and passionate thinker with strong political views he spoke with clarity and could talk for England. His generosity of spirit knew no limits and throughout his life he organised charitable events and collections especially in conjunction with his life long passion, the rollercoaster ride of supporting Middlesbrough Football Club. An ideas man he paid great attention to the detail of whatever he did. Peter was a family man and will certainly be missed both by them and the numerous friends he leaves behind. Below is a photo of Peter(left) recently raising money from generous Middlesbrough folk for Ukraine. He was active until the end. He will certainly go straight into heaven... provided of course that he doesn't stop off for a "bit of a natter" with the other St Peter! Toodle-oo and RIP, Peter. You have certainly earned your place among the stars!

I mentioned on the Peter Hodgson thread yesterday what a great man he was & I genually mean that, as you would say he would talk for England, the times he would phone me & for an hour I hardly said a word just listened to his stories

I meant to say on the other thread but forgot that he invited me along to the Boro TV live recordings with Dave Roberts to watch some of the shows & then asked if I would do an interview, either on the sette or at my home, on any Boro memorabilia theme I chose, which we did at my home

I will truly miss him, a bloke I knew for 6, 7 years but he tret me as if we'd been mates for many years, we went to a few former players reunions together

Even today at work I cant get out of my head the fact he wont phone me anymore, he was the last thing I thought of last night & the 1st at 5 when getting up for work

A truly remarkable man

RIP Peter x
