Planned riot in Middlesborough last weekend.

There's a reason why Joe is sobbing.
He owns his own business along with a partner who I guess won't be best pleased about letting down customers for the foreseeable future.

Is it just me who imagines him as driving a Range Rover sport …..

Were you there to witness this, or are we reliant on your long distance telepathetic powers?
I wasn’t there, but I suspect some people were demonstrating against the results of Tory rule: no NHS dentists, unavailable NHS appointments, absolute lack of good quality employment opportunity, crap transport links, one of the highest crime rates in the UK, one of the highest poverty rates in the UK.
Plenty there to make people a little less content than their wealthy southern counterparts.
So why didn't they protest when the Tories were in power

Noted. I'll never use them.

We've already had the demonstration against all that you mention, it was called the general election. Hopefully the new government can start to put some of that right.
Your points are correct in terms of the drivers of discontent but the people on the march are being convinced that the cause of all that is immigration. They are hitching their wagon to the star that is Farage/Reform who in the past has openly stated that the NHS should be disbanded and we should go to a private health insurance system (which would undoubtedly benefit his paymasters).
That's the most frustrating thing these people are being manipulated by others who very definitely do not have their best interests at heart.
