playoff semi-final dates

Barstewards.
It is my sisters 70thbirthday on the Monday and I had got her to have her party on the 27th so I and other family members could travel down on Sunday for the final.
WTF are EFL up to?

They published Monday as the final at the start of the season and have not changed it until just now.
It is incredibly annoying and will cause us a massive family row as a result.

There's the whole of London to choose from. PLenty of hotels priced at decent (for London) rates which are refundable.
Get a hotel somewhere on the Chiltern Line heading out of London - Gerrards Cross, Beaconsfield, Wycombe, Amersham, Aylesbury - it'll be much cheaper and a (relatively) quieter journey back after the match rather than heading into London. Wembley Stadium station is on that line.

That's what I did for the PlayOff final against Norwich

They did, it was on their website. It said 27th-29th May for the play-offs. No dates given for specific matches.
Well, that was no change. Does our club nit have a website it could keep us all informed on? Everyone is now running around trying to rebook including the fans from leagues 1 and 2

Well it is.

Fixtures are always subject to change, it hasn’t been held regularly on a Monday for years.

I’ve seen plenty on Twitter crying about non-refundable rooms and trains they’ve booked, that’s on them I don’t understand why you’d do that.

People have booked non-refundable rooms and trains already?

What if it was a Monday, but we didn't reach the final?

Some people are idiots.

Yes that’s mental if they’ve done that. I can’t actually believe that, even if I do understand the frustration of moving it.

Changing the date so late is inconvenient and irritating
Do we know that the Monday was originally set for the Championship Final?

I don't think there was even confirmation was there? I think many just assumed the Championship Final would be on the Bank Holiday Monday.

It was listed as the Monday on the EFL website only a couple of days ago.

In June it was originally listed as Monday.

I booked my rooms in January and after checking it said 27th-29th May, so I booked two sets of refundable rooms to cover both options.

So at some point between June and January they have changed.

Though many (but not all) hospitality and package websites were still listing till yesterday as Monday. Club Wembley wasn’t though.

Ah, does seem a bit strange they've changed it...maybe that person is right about it something to do with Sheff Utd/Blackburn being in the Quarters of the FA Cup.

Still even so, it's still very silly for anyone to book non-refundable transport/accommodation, when no teams are guaranteed to be in the play off finals until the Play Off Semi's have concluded.
